Z 97.1

Unfortunately for Z the bus to the game is broken down. The only person they have to fix the bus specializes in fixing toasters and the driver is passed out in the bar down the street. You should worry about GETTING to the game before you even talk about a stadium!

Oh the memories...true...too bad thats all we will ever have of the Mighty Z...soon it will be Cool Jazz 97!

There's no competiton for hit music down there since WORK flipped, right? Why would Z97 do such a thing?
 
Will, I would tend to think that Dudeman is making a point about Z 97, and not talking about the outcome of a format flip to Smooth Jazz. Z 97 has had a rich,colorful, and successful history with it's 18 years under the WZRT call sign under the ownerships of Al Roberts, H & D, Excalibur, and even with Clear Channel.

The only station that may and I stress 'may', offer up a choice going north and north east would be Lunderville's station in Lancaster NH 102.3 Kiss-FM which has a awesome signal. 95 Triple X does not hit Barre/ Montpelier. Maybe "Mix 96" from Montreal may have slight impact that area as well.
 
Sounds like the self proclaimed "Professor of Progamming", "Mr. No Marbles". took "Ken Gilbert's" first post written right at the Pamal Palace in Rutland. That post does not look like something Mr. Gilbert would write. Plus from what we understand, Z 97 became a success the day it fell under "Mr. No Marble's" tutelage, and not one day before that.. "If you want a better Mix, don't ask Betty Crocker, ask Mr. Marbles"...
 
No doubt Ken's 1st post wasn't himself...I'm pretty sure Ken thought Z killed when he was doing afternoon drive! the imposter Ken sounds like someone who has spent half of his carreer competing against the once mighty Z...who has now...either by design or subconsciously...turned the Z-97 into the equivalent of static...in terms of Z-97's impact in the Upper Valley...

What arrogance the imposter Ken has shown...can you honestly tell us on the board that Z NEVER had an impact in the market? Compare the Z (even Kiss) of the past to today? How many giveaways does the new Z have on a daily basis? Does everyone in the listening area have a bumper sticker? How about a t-shirt flaunting the highly researched logo for everyone to wear? The 97 days of summer without Z-97 on the streets? What...no prize patrol making sure everyone has it tuned in? Once there was a day when Z owned Springfield...for some reason no Homer on Z? See any monster trucks anywhere? The talent has gone from Ed Kelly, Ken Gilbert and Keith Scott to just a bunch of warm bodies...by the way...tell the night guy its SEAN PAUL...LIKE SHAWN...NOT JOHN...the job of CHR is burn out songs and give stuff away...right now it just sounds burnt out! Can you hear the radios changing over to Free Beer and Hot Wings? :-*

Maybe the Professor should just flip Z to something else...give-up already...its too painful to listen to anymore...Ken...change your password...tell the boss he isn't fooling anyone here...

How are all of you radio guys doing???
I used to sneek into clubs back home. Is there any place a 17 year old can get into??? You know with cool DJs. There's no DJs to meet here in Ludlow and pretty much no place to go.
I miss good radio stations Being from the South I just can't find a good Top 40 station . You know! Fun, attitude, music, sexy :-* prizes. I wish I was around for all those good old days you are taliking about. I was just born too late! My mom would always tell me to turn the radio down when I was laying on my bed at night.
I went on line looking for a good station and wound up on this crazy web sight. It's fun though.
I'm not sure if you are all professional listeners or what but I probably can learn some stuff from you guys LOL!!

Agreed that they have a good signal, pretty much the only North Country/NEK station that makes it south of the notch in N.H., but what a wasted frequency. Nothing but a jukebox, and a playlist that doesn't sound like it's been updated since 1998.

WGMT isn't a bad-sounding station, and has a signal roughly comparable to Kiss's.
 
The thing that kills me about Kiss 102.3, Lunderville's and not Albany's version. Perhaps this belongs on another thread.. Is that they run network news at the top of the hour, though I think just about all the stations up in the NEK do that except for "Moo".. OK, now to bring it back to Z 97.. Z 97 blasts into Littleton NH, and can be heard quite clear at the Shaw's in Derby. Nice save, maybe ??
 
As a former Z-97 Staffer Glad to heare the news that Z-97 has come back to life, look forward to hearing it next time I make it to Vermont. As I was reading through the post I started thinking back to the different personalities through the years that worked on Z..

Lets see who we can come up with
Jay Kennedy, Eric Justice, Steve Fox, Heather, Diana Wood, Chris Michaels, Ed Kelly, Mark West, Doug Carliyle DC (Doug was the PD/Afternoon guy replacing Diana Wood prior to Ed's Arrival) Z-97 news updates with Kris Pearson almost forgot myself Chris Carrington.

Has the entire Z operation moved to Merchants Row?? or is Dorr Drive still active??

Hey dudeman2000, You really need to lighten up!! :-* Ken said it best "You are not even in the GAME". Pamal is number one in the market up there. Need I remind you that Mixx was #1 in the last book. The ops and gm know their stuff. Besides, the water is clean now on the wzrt frequency. No more bad blood in the water their. So zzzzzzzz97.1 will be ok. As long as Mgt. stays the same. :-* :-* :-* ::)
 
I don't know "Mr.Marbles", sounds like Dudeman has a good handle on the reality of things that go in inside your "Pamal Palace Penthouse" on Merchant's Row... Like that famous movie line, "You can't handle the truth".. Whoever Dudeman is or isn't, they seem to have a good inside look at the workings of the Pamal Palace. Time will tell on whether Z 97 will sink or swim. I thought Mix had only one "X" in it ?

Down Pretty Boy! Either Z is in transition or soon to flip...I'll bet Mr. Marbles paycheck on a flip within 1 year! Maybe Cat to Z and so on...that is...unless the Howell's make a change of a different kind.... ;)

Okay, amongst all this chatter about people that I know nothing about (sorry, not from the area ;) ), I have this question:


Did WZRT ever hire someone for PD/Mornings? I ask, because I would be interested in the position, if it were still open.
