Z-99.5 AFTER DARK

Has anyone heard WZPL lately during nights. They have this new thing they are calling Z-99.5 after dark and they play alot more CHRISH music in the evenings now, but also seem to be playing some 90s Dance and Hip Hop music as well, for instance they just played Heavy D and the Boys-Now that we found love what are we gonna do, from 1991, thats not your ordinary CHR or even hot Ac record on 2008. I think WZPL might be on to something here.

My oh my do you bring back some memories. Specifically the Johnny George show called "Club Z" which ran in the late 80's when I "came out" and started partying in the clubs and spent countless hours in the DJ booths learning how to spin records. My mentor Jim Spalding was the best mixer there ever was and I owe my DJing skills to him. But the WZPL Club Z gig was just the greatest thing and actually the only thing I listened to back then in my car as loud as I could get it. The club atmosphere wasn't restricted to just the clubs anymore as now you could have it at home or in your car. But smart ole Johnny had all of us over a barrel because we all thought this was live at some club every weekend. Now as it turns out Club Z didn't exist and was only studio work and some of my Club DJ friends did get to mix on some of those shows so that was cool. Maybe this Ben Davis highschool and late night ZPL stuff might be a return back to that? I personally wouldn't know as I now live in Crawfordsville and outside of Classic Rock 103.9 FM we have nothing special in radio out here. The dance thing was always great and the next time I'm in Indy I'll listen to ZPL to see whats playing. I quit listening to WZPL years ago when I couldn't get a job there and I also offered my skills to Talbott Street after returning from Las Vegas but I was turned down so I quit going to their club anymore. I'm now sitting on thousands of dollars in DJ equipment that I'm not using and wondering my next move. Maybe if WZPL starts playing classic Dance again I might try again because this trucking thing is getting old and after 24 years in the business I need a change of career.
