That would be great if Fuzzy would come back. I'm sure they'll bring out Z Bear from the mothballs too.sprtschick said:You have a point about Fuzzy. But would he appeal to the younger country audience? I know that us "old farts" who remember him on Z107 would love to have him back behind that mic, but what about the 25-34 crowd?

Not sure why you think this is going to be a "Modern Country" or "New Country" when they say they'll play back to the 90s and today. I haven't listened to more than 5 minutes of country in the past 5 years, but today I've had it on off and on since the flip. I just heard Brooks and Dunn "Rock My World Little Country Girl", by no means is that a New Country type song.karlyle said:Interesting that 106.7 has chosen this "Modern Country" deal. We tried this back in the late 90's-early 2000's when I was working at WGRX (now WZBA) as a last ditch effort to try to pull some numbers from WPOC. The station was call "New Country 100.7"...we had some good response for about 3 months until the playlist got turned over a ton of times and we started getting calls form people to play something more than just the recent stuff. Sounds like they are trying to appeal to the younger Country demo (18-34)...that generation may not mind the limited playlist selection. Might initially take some numbers away from WGTY, but with the strong numbers they always put up, even if they lost 2-3 points, they will still be number one.

I wonder if all the people upset over the switch is making them change their minds.
