Z- Rock Pirate - Gone?

What happened to the Z-Rock pirate on 102.5 in Dutchess County? This weekend and last weekend I noticed they weren't on the air at all. I didn't tune 102.5 the previous couple of weekends, but they're certainly not on the air now. Did they finally call it quits after all this time?

Z-Rock is indeed gone for good, according to this on their web site:

"TO OUR LISTENERS: Due to circumstances beyond our control, we've recently been forced to shut down our FM operation. It's been a pleasure serving the Hudson Valley with the best old and new rock, commercial-free, for the past 8 years. COMING SOON: Z-ROCK will be streaming online, including the live & newly-uncensored Rock Show on Sunday nights. More details as they come."

It looks like their last FM broadcast was February 15, 2009.

When i first heard them i knew they were gonna get busted. They were pumpin 60 watts, right around the Poughkeepsie Galleria was their transmitter site. But hey, now the FCC took them down. Now they just have to take a few more pirates in the area down.

It's funny, these people called it a few months ago, and someone said they dont do busts on the weekend. The FCC documents said they were up their February 21, & 22 which is a WEEKEND

Rumor has it, from a reliable source that the FCC will be making a bust this weekend on an FM pirate radio station operating in the Poughkeepsie area.

More to follow...

The FCC working on the weekend?

Unless the PIRATE station is causing MAJOR interference to a LICENSED station, the Enforcement Division doesn't work on weekends.

Why do you think many pirates operate from late Friday afternoon to early Monday morning?
