z100 morning show

Elvis Duran and the Morning Show have been on vacation since Dec 24.They are comming back monday Jan 12. Isn`t that a long time to take off. Most shows take from christmas eve until the 1st Monday of the new year off.I was just wondering if this can hurt the show in any way taking all that time off. Also now that they are syndicated will it hurt them in the new markets.

They deserve that vacation time. well, i think they have 14 people working just for the morning show- NOT INCLUDING INTERNS. many jocks don't even have a phone operator or producer nowadays. i like how certain people have budgets for it. Every morning program should have that many people to help out, no wonder they do so well. Clearchannel-do the math ! Full staff-good quality programming. Some stations have less than 14 people working in the entire statoin !

thats why they cuttin all the other local morning staff from q102 and kiss-fm in cleveland. to pay them and have their show syndicated

FYI...not all shows get syndicated, nor do all shows get let go FOR syndication for money reasons. Many times, believe it or not, it's for the quality of the programming. If you look up the stations that they are on, they are #1 in their demos in NY, they replaced a dying show in Miami and are now #1 in their demos, they replaced a show believed to be under performing and making way more money in Philadelphia and they replaced a taped, chopped up, no live phone calls ever, previous day replay of a show in Cleveland. One that I am sure was not more expensive than their new show.So do the research like I did...before thinking everything is about money

From what I understand from a friend who knows, they actually have substantially less than the 14 you claim, some are part of the syndication, one is actually an employee of Y100. Besides, what goes on in market 35 is not what you would hope happens in market 1 on a top rated, long lasting (10, 11 years or so) show that is now in 4 major markets. Some morning shows, by nature of their formats and content do not require a larger staff.

I would imagine that Howard's staff at K-Rock was larger. I hear O and A's staff is very large as well. The more content you kick out, the more bodies needed...hopefully a show that utilizes their staff properly, can generate a larger revenue for their company.

I love Elvis Duran and the Morning Show. Been a die-hard fan for years. I didn't know they were that good and popular to hit #1 in other markets besides NYC. Now, does this statistics also explain regarding On-Air with Ryan Seacrest as to replace "dying" and "low rated" midday jocks :-X

I loved the name "Elvis Duran and the Z Morning Zoo". However, it would only work on stations that call themselves Z-[frequency].
