Check z100.com

z100.com posts info on current airshifts, should your curiosities get the better of you (although I did notice that many CCR stations have removed their playlists)

Anyway, Niko does overnights.

I don't listen to z-100 much these days so I was wondering if they are voice-tracked overnight? I know they were at one time.

Re: Z100 Overnights-"Nex"

I believe the person's name is "Nex" as in NexGen(a version of prophet automation systems used by CC). At least that is what I've come to know and expect from some stations. Any announcer you hear is probably "voicetracked".

I don't believe that AFTRA allows voicetracking in NYC, unless it's in the current contract. However, I remember reading that it was negotiated that CC could voice track some shifts on their stations at some point during the contract, I just don't remember when it was allowed to start. Usually it's Joe Rosati and Niko that does overnights.

Re: Z100 Overnights-"Nex"

Thanks for that info. All I'm going on is my experience with CC in other markets. I did not know that there were laws from AFTRA in NYC. Maybe these laws should be put in place throughout the country.
