Just like CBS-FM in NYC vs. B-101 in Philly, Z-100 doesn't reach that far towards the southwest due to Philly's 100.3 being on the same channel. In fact there are many spots even within Z-100's protected signal coverage area in which the terrain blocks Z-100's signal, allowing you to pick up the Philly 100.3 (formerly "Y-100"; I'm not sure what they call it now) loud and clear. For example, Bridgewater, NJ is within the protected signal contour of all the NYC FM stations, but on the western side of the township, the hills in the area block out the NYC stations and bring in the Philly stations instead.

Z100, and most New York City stations come into the East and Northeast side of Sussex County. It does cover all of Passaic and probably all of Morris. The mountains and hills in Sussex County cause the stations to fade as you get farther in the area.

Pretty much like most the NYC fm stations Z 100 goes out to about the Brookhaven area. On a good radio, esepcailly Car radio can go a bit further east than that

When driving I-84 just west of Port Jervis there is a very large span where all NYC stations come in perfectly including Z-100.......However start heading down the hill and all NYC stations are gone.....That is what I call the I-84 dead zone where there are pretty much no stations that come in clearly.<P ID="signature">______________

The signal is fine in Asbury Park but by Belmar 100.1 WJRZ starts to interfere with Z100 and by Brick Twp on most radios it is difficult to hear Z100 because of WJRZ. You need a very good car radio to hear Z100 in Northern Ocean county.
at my House in Spring Lake Z100 and WJRZ both come in decently with both stations interfering with each other.

When driving on I-87 between Tuxedo & Harriman there's another dead zone where all the NYC stations just die and the Pougkeepise ones have trouble getting in. Once getting to the Harriman toll plaza the NYC stations comes in strong with the Pougkeepise ones going in and out until getting past the Newburgh tolls going into Ulster County.
