Z102 Nights

So it appears now that three of the four Lubbock GAP FM stations are running syndicated shows at night -- KOOL (Mike Harvey), FMX (Harddrive) & The Bear (Lia). This (with the exception of KOOL) is all after the shakeup a few weeks ago.

Z102 nights are still local (for now). Any speculations on if they will also succumb to syndication? If so, what show would they put on? Are there any good syndicated CHR night shows out there?

Don't give them any ideas...

Actually, the Mike Harvey show is really really good. It's not just some canned show, and he plays some really good stuff!

Starzzzzzzz, on the other hand (I just found out) is almost COMPLETELY syndicated now. Ryan Seacrest in the mid morning, John Tesh after that (snooze), and then Delilah after Dark. What's next, maybe a syndicated show for mornings too? Makes you wonder why they don't just tune into a Soft AC network instead. Doing all these syndicated shows makes the station sound remarkably uneven! How much longer is Brad gonna spend money on that dead weight?

Z102 nights will be syndicated soon. There won't be any LIVE & LOCAL on that GAP station either at night. Who will it be? Don't know. But it will be syndicated. They just haven't found one to stick in that slot yet.

The only one that I am aware of is "Romeo's Playhouse". I think 106.9 The Zone up in the Elk City/Altus, Oklahoma area still carries that.

Hell, GAP's 103.3 KISS FM in Midland/Odessa carries it.

If thats the case, thats a real red flag for change at Z102

There's no need for a flag. The change was made earlier this month. Its just a matter of Z102 finding the most affordable syndicated Night show. Ratings have nothing to do with anything in that building at this point. What matters is how much money is going out and how much is coming. The only reason why there isn't one there now, is simply because they did not have enough time to get one into place when the change happened. Others in the building found it easier to find one for there empty shifts.

The only way there will ever be a live Jock on KQBR, KFMX & KZII again in those now vacant shifts... is either George Laughlin (George Laughlin is John Hogan's MINI ME) finally gets the money he needs or wants out of the company and sells things off. Or they realize, at least with KZII & KFMX, that removing the LIVE JOCKS and replacing them with syndication was a really bad idea. Laughlin doesn't realize that in Lubbock, since their have been LIVE JCOKS in studio for who knows how long, people like to enteract with their radio stations. I know it sounds corny but it in many ways has become apart of their lifes. When they can't do that anymore, they will turn the channel (Where they will turn to at this point? I have no idea.) or they will simply start finding other avenues of entertainment. If other stations, who are their competition, are smart... they will find a way to get a LIVE JOCK in studio to take advantage of the change.
