Z102 sounding better, Mix, the Beat, too!

I like what I am hearing on both of these stations.
Z102's entire lineup has a local feel to it now. They are illustrating the correct use of voice-tracking:
Max, Jax, Dabs, and Dina in the Morning
Ron Grant - Middays, is a local veteran, a voice-over treasure and a production pro!
Boy Locco - Afternoons, perfect VT from El Passo. The former night-time guy at Kiss 104.3 knows Lubbock, and has a good sense of humor too!
Kidd Carson? What more do I need to say, Always a good show!

As for Mix100, they have streamlined the station nicely.
Kidd Kraddick in the morning remains a good fit
Getting rid of Alan Kable for a local night jock was a good idea.
The playlist is loosened, with more mainstream CHR kicked in.
Best move: Top of the Hour 1-2 Punch Jingles, gives this thing some bite!

I also like what Magoo is doing with the Beat, keeping things consistant and focused. For what they do, (Rhythmic CHR) they do it well!

Z102

KISS FM has changed their on air slogan to "All the Hits.." They are also doing a dance mix show at noon now. Heard Big hosting it.

Stations does sound a bit different from when they changed names a year ago.

Wow... reading the first comment kinda threw me off for a minute.

They seem to be doing A LOT of mix shows. One at noon, one from 11 to midnight after the Party Playhouse. And all afternoon on Sundays. Even during the party playhouse, they mix a few tunes together during a few segments.

Is Nate on the air anymore?

Garrett, Magoo is not at The Beat anymore. He lives over in Dallas now. Dee Brown has been the PD for a while now.

Notice the date of the first post. This is a very old thread. It surprised me too when I saw it pop up today.

Sorry for freaking everyone out. I didn't want to start a new thread when there was already one. But I see now, that confused a lot of people.
