Anyway that makes what 5 new country stations heard in Lafayette?

Lafayette market- 97.3 The Dawg, 99.1 KXKC, Baton Rouge ( that reaches lafayette) 101.5 WYNK, 100.7 The Tiger, also 103.5 Alexandria reaches...so now they will have 6 to choose from... ::)

+100.3 KRRV Alexandria
+105.5 KEUN Eunice
+1050 KVPI Ville Platte

It will likely be a simulcast of WUUU so they can close shop in Lafayette. They use barix interstreamers or the like to get the signal to the towers now since they have no stl tower at their studio. Easy to send a stream from WUUU to their site in Opelousas. They have all but abandonned KYMK since getting evicted from the land the tower sits on. The 2 AMs tend to have more dead air than actual programming. They will prob be dark soon too. They should sell the FMs to Delta.

There is about a 1/3 chance of hearing audio on either 1330 or 1520. You will likely hear a dead air carrier. Why not go the transmitter building armed with a laptop and plug that in? It would at least be something.

My guess is the good doctor is riding it into the ground. The stations have little value. The transmitters are all failing and the owner refuses to pay the engineer, just like he refuses to pay Charles Segona or Rob Neal what he owes them. He has been evicted from a studio, a transmitter site and has had employees threatened by the owner of another transmitter site because he stopped paying on it too. He is asking 5 million for all 4 Lafayette stations and was even offered 1 million for KYMK, which he has now lost the license for. He was offered 1 million for KFXZ-FM and did not want to sell it to the "racist mayor" or his sons.

103.5 is Northeast of Alex and won't really get more than about 50 miles out... 100.3 being south of town can be heard but fades, just like the others mentioned. However 105.3/1230 KSLO runs a weird real country format with mainly classics but some new country also. (But I love their online playlist sending nothing but spot info..whoops)

But yeah fieldtech, I think he may try to run everything out of his northshore office

That's all this market needs another "New Country" format. KXKC seems to not be doing so great since they have lost their PD...seems Cumulus must have run him off. KMDL is pretty much untouchable when it comes to country ratings, but we all know it's not all about the ratings. Personally living in Northern St. Landry Parish, my radio has not come off of 105.3 KSLO for quite a few weeks now. The new country they play sounds really good. Even got a few locals in rotation from what I hear. If they had a wider range to the Lafayette Market, they would be able to make a little bit of noise...Keep it traditional.

URBAN, COUNTRY, WHATEVER PITS DOES, HE NEEDS TO KEEP IT ON THE AIR. CAT COUNTRY WAS ON AND OFF A FEW DAYS LAST WEEK. ANOTHER GREAT EXAMPLE OF PITS BROADCASTING

Cat Country has rotation consists of about 15 songs max. Seriously, I heard songs repeating while driving to Opelousas from Lafayette which was at max a 35 minute drive. Throw in their transmitter problems, low quality audio, a disgraced former police officer and a sex offender and you have another Pittman recipe for disaster.
