"102.7 KIIS-FM is mega successful, but it is overly Rhythmic leaning. Even bonafide CHR/Pop smashes by the likes of Sara Bareilles have never been given a chance at KIIS-FM, and the station barely played Pink's big hits.
With the transition of K-Big to a standard AC, and with KYSR now a Modern Rock station, there may be a hole for an adult friendly CHR/Pop station. Either something along the lines of 104 KRBE Houston (which is a pretty Hispanic heavy market), or 93.1 KQMQ Honolulu.I'll go ahead and post this on the L.A. board as well."
Thanks CHRles - I'm sure if you guys keep bringing it up, those clueless radio programmers will wake up and give you mainstream CHR stations in both markets. Once that happens and the new CHRs stations fly to the top of the ratings, I bet those Clear Channel programmers at Wild 94.9 and KIIS-FM will kick themselves for their stupidity
"That could have been us," they'll whine - and heads will roll.
By the way - we have stations that play the likes of Sara Bareilles and Pink. They're called Alice and Star 101.3.
