Z95.7 is back and better than ever!

You mean you haven't yet listened to the All New Q-102, or B 107.3 serving the greater Bay Area from Stockton? Come on, get with it, pal.

April Fools! Oh but I do wish a mainstream CHR format would come back to San Francisco.

:( sad but true - 4th biggest radio market STILL without a CHR/Pop station.

102.7 KIIS-FM is mega successful, but it is overly Rhythmic leaning. Even bonafide CHR/Pop smashes by the likes of Sara Bareilles have never been given a chance at KIIS-FM, and the station barely played Pink's big hits.
With the transition of K-Big to a standard AC, and with KYSR now a Modern Rock station, there may be a hole for an adult friendly CHR/Pop station. Either something along the lines of 104 KRBE Houston (which is a pretty Hispanic heavy market), or 93.1 KQMQ Honolulu.

I'll go ahead and post this on the L.A. board as well.

Thanks CHRles - I'm sure if you guys keep bringing it up, those clueless radio programmers will wake up and give you mainstream CHR stations in both markets. Once that happens and the new CHRs stations fly to the top of the ratings, I bet those Clear Channel programmers at Wild 94.9 and KIIS-FM will kick themselves for their stupidity

"That could have been us," they'll whine - and heads will roll.

By the way - we have stations that play the likes of Sara Bareilles and Pink. They're called Alice and Star 101.3.

LMAO! you mean those stations that play the latest from Sheryl Crow. Hahaha, man you are funny.
LOL, I can't stop laughing :D

"LMAO! you mean those stations that play the latest from Sheryl Crow. Hahaha, man you are funny."

I'm glad my clueless old a** has amused you. Call me gullible, but shouldn't contemporary hits radio play contemporary hits from Sara Bareilles, and Cheryl Crowe?

"Cheryl Crowe?"

I just googled Cheryl Crow. No "e." And here I was trying to zing CHRles for bad spelling. Imagine my embarrasment.

LOL, it's Sheryl with an S not a C

As for Sara Bareilles, the song is finding some success now at Rhythmic radio as well. 96.1 The Beat was the first to add it, and it's now Top 10 there. Then B-96 Chicago added it and found some success as well (forcing Chicago's own CHR/Pop 103.5 Kiss FM to take notice of it as well finally). This week the song's been added to a couple of more influential Rhythmics: 98.5 KLUC Vegas, and...the Bay area's own Wild 94.9:

Gawd - I've got to stop posting late at night (I get up at 4:30 AM). For my punishment, CHRles - if you get your CHR station some day, I promise to listen to it.

If you want your CHR fix that bad, try 89.3 KOHL in Fremont! They play the same GREAT music a true CHR station would play and the jocks are COOL also!!!!! Here is the KOHL website:
http://www.kohlradio.com and YES, they offer audio streaming too!!!!!

I'm out of market so forgive me and please don't jump my ass...but isn't Wild more or less an agressive CHR now? I've noticed that most RHY's around the country have softened up to the point that there's very little difference between mainstream and its rhythmic counterpart...keeping in mind that I doubt I'll ever hear a daughtry, nickelback, or 3 doors down on Wild.
