Z95 in low power?

Why is Z95 always seems to be in low power? I can almost pick up 102.9 da bomb better now than them. When will they finally get things going again? ???

Rumor has it they are replacing their transmitter. I've heard They have a strange configuration which is very high transmitter power and fairly low antenna efficiency. I've been led to believe they will be back at full power pretty soon.

With their height, they can cover the metro pretty well with just a couple of hundred watts.

Hopefully that replacement xmitter had HD capability. I was down in CC in March. Shocked at the lack of HD signals.. only found one.

I believe I heard KLUX mention it was broadcasting in High Definition... which is not true.
According to Ibiquity's filings with the FCC, its HD stands for Hybrid Digital.

Not gonna happen. Their engineer tried to get them to go HD (even as a way to generate capital by leasing out secondary HD channels to translator owners) but the Malkan's did not want to spend money to go HD. None of the other broadcast owners in Corpus Christi want to go HD either because of the cost involved. The only reason KLUX and KEDT are HD is because they have a certain spending budget every year and at the end of the year if they don't spend it they loose it and that's how those two got to be HD. The money was there so why not.

Does this mean they will never be back to 100kw? They should show this coverage on the map if they are going to stay at a lower power.

Kind of off the topic here, but why doesn't Z95 and KBAY mix any more in the clubs? They use to do live mixing all the time.

Maybe they're getting cheap.
