Pensacola/Fort Walton Z96 vs. WMEZ and WABD

Driving through P'cola I noticed a difference in sound between Z96 and WABD. Z96 audio quality seems to less high and clearer than WMEZ, WABD and WXBM. Why is that? Also, the djs on WABD are loud and obnoxious especially Mojo especially on their imaging jingles. This is just a observation and I think Z96 sounds sounds better overall and has HD. Cumulus Mobile lazy?
