Is there a reason a TOP 40 station plays only 2 or 3 currents an hour
they've had the same imaging since they came bakc
i say just bring clear channel back

Who said Z97 was a TOP 40 station? Has it EVER been a traditional CHR? Clear Channel tried just a little bit when it was Kiss...but still CHR lite...hold on a second...I think I hear Sir Mix A Lot....If CC was afraid of the "Urban" side of the top 40 charts...do you think the Gilligan crew would "Kick it Up a Notch?"

Yes, there is a reason...In fact, 2 reasons.....the Prof and the Bear.....took them just over a year to ruin Z97 after years of having Z97 ruin them....maybe someone can compare the Z of today , to the Z of Pre-Pamal....From Managers to sales people....take a look at once was.....to now, what is.....any takers?
 
The fall of the once mighty Z continues...it appears, now, that Jackie Donovan is now on afternoon drive...no doubt voice tracking from a cubicle in Albany and now Mandy has taken the helm of morning show host...what's that make...2 voice trackers during the day and a struggling rookie on the morning? Are they still giving away oven mitts and other cooking gear?

Hey DUDE...I like Z97 now...I give credit to Mr Marbles, or "Mables" as you wrote. I think whoever is in charge of Z97 should take a bow...they've done a great job with it! The book, no doubt will prove me right.....As far as Mandy in the Morning goes, I heard her...not bad...fits in with the rest of the stations here
 
Hey POON...ask the Professor when you see him today if Z will be number 2 in the "book" because of the FORMAT or because it sounds good?...WJJR is #1 because of the format...not because of the taste...Z98 and WJJR have the best signals in the region and it would have to run dead air to fall below the top 5 in #181.

The big key is REVENUE...does the mighty Z NOT run spots because they charge more? or do they NOT run many spots because they don't have any?

As far as the station sounding "good"...no matter what the book says, the fact is that more and more of Z's target will be switching to their Ipods or XM as the Z plays the same Green Day song they played at the same time yesterday which leads into Tipsy...again (way to stay "fresh")...why listen?...Z doesn't give anything away...does almost NOTHING live...and creates not one bit...zip zero nada...of the excitement it used to in the region.

why not just end the misery...flip it already and complete the destruction...Cool Jazz 97 on the way! ;)

Rocket Power....what do you mean keep dreamin? Is it possible for z97 to flip? Perhaps it could...I'd hate to see that happen....Z has been such a regional powerhouse, it woudl be a shame to change it now.... :-\
 
Most stations need a PD and and Ops Mgr....and they need them to work together...No doubt the list of applicants is very long...Being the PD at 50,000 watt FM is a great honor...Anyway...I have a feeling that the new PD of Z will have the new #1 station in the market....sshhhhhhhh!!!
 
THE GREAT HOUDINI does not care about 12+ my students :p..radio 101, 12 year olds don't purchase air time!! If one of my stations in Springfield finished number one in that category I wouldn't even care. -NUFF SAID, CLASS DISMISSED on this topic 8)

So, Radio-info posted the 12+ numbers...Does anyone know the 25-54? That is the PRIME demo, so what's the scoop?

JJR Sucked? I find that hard to believe....hasn't it ALWAYS been a top station? If in fact it did slip, where does the blame fall? Also, will Z97 have another good book the NEXT time around? Haven't all of the GOOD jocks left the building? Can anyone post some hard facts , in numbers form, about how the market rates these days? WJJR has to be #1, doesnt it?
