Z97 website up and rolling

Got to give credit where credit is due, the new Z 97 website is up and running and looks like none of the "Ham and egg, website 101" hackjobs of the other Pamal Rutland stablemate sites.. They are even plugging a new Pontiac G5 giveaway, good ideas just seem to go around and come back again, I think Z 97 gave away a new Pontiac Grand Am in the famous "year of the Z' promotion ten years ago..

Now whether the Pamal Rutland people know, there is an AM station in the group, and has a news, talk, and sports format, with a VAB Hall of Fame Sports Director and also a major market caliber talk show host on board.. Wouldn't a website for WSYB serve as a very useful tool to support the local programming shows and events..

Kracko's thinking again... Sorry about setting off the smoke detectors... :)

ok, so care to share the site address?

JoJo-

No worries..I see AFTERNOONS WITH JOHN...does that mean that someone had their head on right, and took that hack out of AM drive? Although, as an afternooner myself, I would like to think that it takes a special something to get people home as well...

What is the rest of the lineup of jocks? (You will note I am not, at present, in the good ol Rutland/UV market, and cannot tune in for myself, which I am sure my ears thank me for!!!)

Thanks! Your pal, S O T R

Oooooh! Nice logo! Very manly, I must say. Looks like Pokey Bear (that stud!) picked it? I like him even more now! WOW! At least its better than the other sites from the Island. Got to go finish my tan!

PBT ;D

My opinions are of the content and basic design, which far surpass the other lame websites in that group. The basic foundation seems good with lots of room to build off of. Curious about the Pontiac giveaway, I have not heard anything being talked about on air (yet). Should have been teased like crazy over Memorial Day Weekend since a car giveaway in the western end of Market 179 is a big deal. I think the Fox did the last new car giveaway, several years ago in the form of a New Beetle, and Z did a Grand Am. That's from my twisted memory, not sure if Cat in it's pre-Pamal significant days, or WJJR the same did anything at that level. Correct me if I'm wrong in my recall.

Kudos to those responsible for getting a fresh-looking site for Z-97!

Now, let's have one for one of Vermont's oldest and most durable stations, WSYB-AM!

PBT.. BTW "Pokey bear" is a female.. The word on the street is that her favorite expression to her subordinates is, "Don;t poke the bear" in terms of being unprofessionally in a bad mood all the time and not wanting to deal with anyone. Word is that phrase is rather commonplace, more so today. The logo, to me, is pretty unexciting. Like the old logo with the swoosh much better, exuded a lot more charactor.

OMG OMG OMG!!! I get the reference now! Why didn't I think of it before?

Although, the emblem that "Captain Z" has on his chest is in fact yellow, the rest of him is most certainly almost the same color green as the Z in the new Z97 logo. See for yourself!

Just click on "Watch Scene".

And I wonder if maybe the "Z" character on Strongbad isn't a colorful representation of some Vermont programmers? ;D

The website looks pretty good so far, but very limited. So how does it sound? Who's doing mornings, nights? Voiceover? Certain songs in a row, like maybe 7??

The last car giveaway in that market was a year or two ago when I was voicetracking for ZRT - not sure if it was when I was doing middays or nights. They gave away...a used, souped up Dodge Neon. It was something worth winning though, if you didn't have a car.

John is doing afternoons, and JB (who did nights previously) is now doing middays. Caught him as I was driving through yesterday. Not sure about morning drive and nights.

Nice to see they have the videos up on their website. That was certainly one of the big selling points for the CC websites, especially for CHR stations, in a world where MTV rarely plays videos anymore.
