Zara Logging Feature

I just had a question about the automation software and was wondering if anyone in the community had a workaround for this. I work for a community radio station, and it is required to log every songs that we play. This would include the Artist, Album, Year, Song, etc. Under the LOG tag, I had typed %ARTI - %TITLE - ALBM - %YEAR - %CMNT and all of those show up in the playlist, but not in the log files. It only shows the track that was played.

We are required to submit music logs to report to the music service that covers our license so we can be legally in compliance with copyright. I had talked with the tech support for the paid version of Zara Studio, and seems like it isn't supported. Here was there response.

"The tags are only displayed in the playlist. The log file only shows the path or the name of the file."

Seems like an easy (and necessary) feature if they are marketing this to small to medium sized radio stations.

Thanks for your time

There are a couple of things you can do, all variations on the same theme, essentially creating your own log file. You can generate the Zara log each day with the file name of the songs you have played. Do some post processing on that log file - it's fairly simple to write a script or little program to go through the log, get the information you want from the ID tags of the file you played and then create a new log file with the additional info. I've used variations on this theme for years.
