did anybody hear how Ziegler got thrown out of the studio by Kobylt on Monday? Kobylt went totally ballistic on him and almost used the F word on the air before ordering him out.
Oddly enough, isen't Ziegler is on "vacation" since?
Does anybody know what is going on? Did Ziegler get fired?

Apparently there was a meeting with the parties involved in the Cluster GM's office. Result--Ziegler has been suspended for at least 2 days.
He was on vacation last week, but he had been back. Now he gets more off days...

...sounds like Zieg is so stupid he doesn't know when to turn his "butthole" act off. I don't care who you are, you just don't go onto your lead-in program and tell the host to his face that he has his "head up his @$$" about anything. Seems as if Z desperately wants a one-way ticket back to Kentucky or Tennessee...
 
He's an annoying little twit. I met him at the R&R Talkers convention, and had to control
a need to head slam him.
 
I lived in louisville when he was on whas and he was very in your face there but his style suits los angeles alot more than lets not think outside the box louisville.A very boring radio market with both music and talk!!!But why suspend zig just for that i mean no profane language was used and it was entertaining to listen to. But if anyone listened to john and ken show that day john was not in a good mood the whole day and i agreed with his whole show!!!
 
haha If you listen to the MP3, after he kicks Ziegler out, you can hear Kobylt whisper "I'll take care of him tomorrow..."
 
Ziegler isn't highly talented and is one host that KFI needs to loose. There are so many more talented talk show hosts who know and understand Los Angeles the "issues" of this city from a conservative standpoint. He still has a hard time pronouncing some L.A. streets and cities. He's a pompas a*s that goes ballistic if anyone "looks" at him through the studio window while he is on the air. He's not well liked around KFI.
 
Robin needs to put Wayne Resnick in that slot. Funny, intelligent, and unique.
 
I agree with doublecash that Resnick needs his own show. Generally, I like and agree with Zig, but he's pretty pigheaded about the Iraq issue. Kobylt was making some really good points -- esp. about how the $300B for the war might have been better spent here -- and he was feeling pretty crappy about the whole 9/11 commemoration thing. It was just a bad time for Zig to start up with him. But a couple days' suspension for this one dust-up seems pretty harsh to me. (Meaning, I think there's probably more behind it than this one dust-up.)

I kind of wish they would replace Handel with Resnick. I'm reeeally tired of his constant yelling punchlines and his inability to read copy without getting 25% of the words wrong. Also, if I hear him personalize a story by interjecting "by the way!" just one more time, I might drown myself. Which means I'll be drowning myself on Monday. Resnick is funnier and smarter -- and the staff seem to like him better.

Those people at KFI would have sex with their mothers just to get people to listen.

One of two things happened:

(1) Either those two subteens really are both immature idiots, or

(2) A stupid, gullible listenership is being asked to believe that a "feud" exists between two radio "talents".

Not sure which is worse, but knowing KFI, its (1).

Neither says much about its listeners, though.

Ziegler suspension
KFI/640 AM evening talk host John Ziegler is scheduled to return to the air Monday following last week's two-day suspension after words were exchanged with John Kobylt, whose 3-7 p.m. program with Ken Chiampou precedes the Ziegler program.

A transcript of the Sept. 11 broadcast shows at 6:55 p.m. Kobylt pitching to the upcoming Ziegler show and Ziegler responding, "Hey, John, exclusive information – stuff you won't hear anywhere else – about how ABC caved on the "Path to 9/11" movie last night. Plus we'll talk to a teacher who is having some difficulty locally teaching about 9/11 and I'll also explain … there are two great mysteries as far as I'm concerned. Why George Bush is so incredibly soft on illegal immigration and why someone as smart as John Kobylt has his head up his (derriere) on Iraq."

Kobylt responds, "Get out … get out … get out, or I'm going to throw something at you." Moments later, Kobylt said, "I'm sick of you coming in here every day and bugging me. Get out of here."

Ziegler responded, "You're wrong on this John," an apparent reference to his views on the war in Iraq. Kobylt responded, "Either turn off his microphone or I'm getting out. Get him out … get him out. John, I just asked you five minutes ago not to … bug me anymore. Okay? I asked you … I ask you every day. Get out of here. God almighty. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I want to see you put on a GI uniform and go fight in Baghdad. God … go … out."

The exchange ended with Ziegler saying, "Fine. Take care of it tomorrow."

Austin Hill has been filling in for Ziegler. A spokeswoman for KFI program director Robin Bertolucci said she is not allowed to comment on personnel matters.

I think it is a little bit different than what cited in the oc register. For instance, Kobylt almost blurted the f word and he is the one who said : "i'll take care of him (or it) tomorrow".

today was Ziegler's first day. There was no tease by Ziegler. I tried to listen to Ziegler for a little bit to see if he would appologize, but he did not. I could not listen for too long though so I don't know if he said something beyond the first 10 minutes.

The way Kobylt seems pissed, I doubt it was staged. If it was, Kobylt is a real good actor! However, I can't believe how full of himself Ziegler his. I can't stand his show actually, although I enjoy Handle and John & Ken.

Personally if I was the cluster GM, I would have suspended BOTH of them for two days. Ziegler was being irritating, and Kobylt should not have dissed another host on the station.
