"Zihlman in the morning"passes

Oh, gosh, so sorry to hear it. I remember his morning show on WLAM and it was really a lot of fun. I was really pleased to meet Don in the early 90's when he and I were both acct execs for Ron Frizzell's stations Kiss 100 and WLAM (by then on 870).

When I asked him about the morning show he'd done years earlier and told him I'd been a fan, he acknowledged that it was a good gig at the time, but was by no means nostalgic about it and seemed to have no desire to be on the air again. He was very much into sales by that time.

He was a great co-worker, well-liked by everyone on the staff. I wish I'd gotten to know him better. Very sorry to hear that Don's gone so soon.

Very sad to hear the news. His obit in the Portland Press Herald featured some real wit and whimsy. I suspect he penned it himself. Great job, great guy. We should all go out with such dignity.....
