If I wanted to be getting up at all hours of the night to be at work before the sun came up I could have stayed at my cushy government job, for more money and certainly more job security than I'd get from CBS!

How about bringing in her old Star 93.7 co-host Ralphie Marino (previously at WERZ in Portsmouth, NH). It would be a big Star 93.7 reunion consisting of Ralphie Marino, Karen Blake, and Frankie Foxx (traffic) sans Fast Freddie or, they can bring in former famous Kiss voice Ed McMann.
Interesting, so both Zito and Blake go on vacation last week, and Zito gets sent on a permanent vacation this week. I don't think this bodes well for Santos on WWZN...
Total stab in the dark guess on my part, but... how about Don Geronimo? He's still under contract with CBS for six months, and has been doing fill-ins on WCBS-FM in New York.

The way they have been trimming payroll on the TV side, I doubt they are going to replace Zito on the radio side. They've been cutting people at WBZ AM for a while now, and selling their heritage out by doing brokered shows on the weekend in search of revenue. They cut staff at WZLX a while ago, getting rid of some of the morning show staff and Al Cole on the overnights IIRC
It sucks because Zito is a family man with a stay at home wife and is now out of a job in the worst employment market ever.
Karen is probably capable of doing the show herself, and she better ready to do it for a while. This isn't her first rodeo by any means.
Stupid question... who is doing nights these days? Did they bring Tom Kent back after the Christmas music went away?

AH, no WODS did not bring Tom Kent back after the Christmas music. Nights are being handled by Patrick Callahan, and Mighty Mike Osborne. The reason they probably didn't bring back Tom Kent was because his show didn't fit their format. Just a guess. If WODS wanted to do some sort of syndicated evening programming they could get Mike Harvey's Show I know he has a weekday show as well as Saturday nights

Santos buys the time on WWZN. He buys the time for the whole "Revolution Boston" format. As long as he continues to pay for it, he's on.
No morning show is safe at CBS right now.

As long as WODS doesn't bring back "guest announcer/sidekick" Bob Lobel, they'll do ok. ;D
I haven't listened to WODS since "Zito and Karen" started but maybe I'll give Karen a listen again. I've never been a massive Karen Blake fan but I thought she did much better on her own than with Chris Zito and certainly Lobel. I'd put her in the same class as Julie Devereaux. Both women can carry their own shows and don't need partners/sidekicks. Julie doesn't need Tom Doyle and Karen doesn't need anyone filling Zito's spot.
