ZNS1 Is Temprarily Toast

Hmm... One wonders whether this will be a temporary loss or whether it will be used as an excuse to cease AM broadcasting. The only other Bahamian medium-wave outlet, 810 AM, is not such a solid signal as 1540 was and here at least, is inaudible during the day and wiped out by XERB and Caracol (Bogota) at night. 1540 was a solid copy 24/7.

Nope, theyre going to rebuild... "only the sun covers the bahamas better.. Zed En Ess One" is a liner they used to run. ZNS1 is considered the national public service broadcaster and vital in emergency situations

Let's hope they improve their audio processing at the same time. The audio from the old transmitter sounded like it had been filtered through a whole laundry-pile of socks.

ZNS 810 is still on, loud and clear, it makes it quite well into South Florida and is in AM Stereo.

This station was off the air for months following Hurricane Dorian in 2019. I don't know how extensive the damage was at the transmitter site on Grand Bahama island, but once they returned to air their signal was significantly stronger than before.
