Zone DJ's

So at this point any one have any ideas where the following DJ's will land?

Sludge
Brian"The Whipping Boy"
Freak
James Van Osdol

I can see maybe James Van Osdol taking over Middays for Matt DuBiel at NineFM Because I can remember hearing a while ago that Matt was going to do middays until they found someone else to do it for him. The Whipping Boy could possibly be the third morning person with Steve Fisher and Joey Fortman. As for Sludge and Freak, they are hard rockers, so I'm not sure where they will land, but I wish all four of them the best, they probably got no warning just like Greg brown and Dick Biondi over at WJMK, so they would not walk out the door and leave no DJ's, it is quite a shame on ABC and Infinity to do that to people!!!

It's such a shame that Sludge just jummped the Q101 ship to go to this place. Freak bailed out too.....they would have been better off staying at Q<P ID="signature">______________

Yeah...it's a shame. Brian is a good guy! So is Freak. After the Zone beat "Q", they probably thought they were making the right decision.

Bottom line is Gamble should never be given a job in this business again. He's a whack job...pure and simple!

Wow, I had a bad feeling about Sludge moving to the Zone. I knew things just started going sour, when they turned the "Sludge Morning Show" to "Sludge and Brian." Now according to All Access:

PD BILL GAMBLE, APD/MD JAMES VANOSDOL and THE ZONE on-air staff have been relieved of their duties.

OUCH. I don't like FREAK, but I would like to see Sludge back on Q101. Even though it won't happen.

REBEL RADIO 1240AM!

No it wont happen I recall remarking on this board about Mike Stern's quote about Sludge when he left Q, I asked if there was a reason why stern essentially dissed the guy after he fired him. So no I dont see him going back there.

Oy. This flip still has me in shock. I totally did not expect it. I've been a diehard fan of the Zone since I discovered it while looking for a station to listen to regularly after Energy went Spanish. I had no idea Chicago radio stations could be so fickle.

Of course, part of becoming a fan is developing a fondness for the DJs. So, I'm glad someone started this thread. I hope to find out where the DJs went to.

ZoneFan.

It's interesting that on Tuesday, one of Shannon's morning drive voice tracks (the bird seems to be blank before 10 a.m. and the music's played locally with Shannon doing voice tracks) actually wished Sludge and Gamble the best of luck. How often do you hear *that* after a mass firing?
