ZTWINS 1620AM HOW SIGNAL?

Hello from (Boston, Massachusetts)
I listen to this station online
But if I ever visted there, how is their signal in the day or night?
Can you hear it throughout the area? How far (??How many minutes) outside the city does it come in? Day or night?
Thank you for your time and have a ncie day everyone?

Daytime the signal is good around most of King County. At night it is good South Seattle and South King County suburbs.

thank you @JakeMott
I appriciate it a lot.
I like their station for (R&B) Urban AC music. They use "The Touch" from Cumulus Media Networks
Thank you very much

KYIZ really should be a LOT stronger than they are for a 10,000 watt signal. They start to fizzle out right around Shoreline and are just a ghost of a signal in Everett......

The signal was awful in Bothell. If you had a mediocre radio, forget it. Better in Bellevue but definantly NOT the strength of KTTH, for example.

At night KYIZ is dominate in Bellevue, but in Bothell it mixed with KSMH West Sacramento, CA (Religious)

KYIZ is barely audible in the daytime in Aldergrove and at nights they are blown off the air by other stations on 1620 (most notably KSMH in Auburn,CA).

thanks a lot for all your replys. I'll remember that if I ever plan to visit the area, or if I know anyone visiting there that like that music.
thank you all, You all are very helpful, and great

I tend to forget about those stations, even tho' I enjoy and grew up on R&B. I tried listening to 1620 in the car last night in North Seattle. Couldn't even hear it over the electrical interference down Greenwood Avenue. No reliable signal in Ballard. And this was 5 in the afternoon.

AM 1420 is even weaker.

I think there must be some serious bad grounding issues for these stations, which don't really put out an audible signal much beyond ten milres from their transmitter site. However, AM1680 is loud all over metro Seattle.

1620 from Renton, by the way, was the first station I ever monitored when the expanded AM band was opened up. Got to hear in in the San Francisco Bay Area at night back then. I used to enjoy hearing a 1950-60s soul/rockabilly oldies format out of Northern Utah on 1660, I think, as well on the car radio in the Bay Area.

That would be KXOL Brigham City, UT. Yep I heard it before when they ran oldies. It's now SS music...

I miss KYAC.....and KKFX :(

Frank Barrow is still the news guy isn't he? That would make him the longest running newscaster in Seattle radio today. Starting with the original R&B KZAM in the early '60s.......

I guess their current signal is weak like that, ?? maybe because there's not a big audience there in Seattle area?
We lost our Urban AC station in Boston which was a daytime only station that ran 1000 Watts in the day. It was reachable as far as Providence, and as far as just pass Nashua, Nh.
Yes we have CHR/Urban station (Jamn 94.5-Clear Channel)
But we have no Urban AC station like (1620 am)
There are som Pirate Radio stations inside Boston Urban Neighborhood which you can only hear in about three of those cities inside Boston (Roxbury, Dorchester, and Mattapan) One is Urban AC/Talk "Touch 106.1", the other one is Caribbean/Hip Hop "Big City 101.3" that signal (If you have a good radio) reaches well outside the city (20 minutes outside the city). Both are also online. There is one more Caribbean Station "Choice 102.9" you can only hear that in parts of Roxbury and Dorchester part of Boston. There are a few AM Hatian, and one Gospel Pirate Radio station in Boston on AM Both are around 1400-1700 You can only hear both in those three cities. Those are the cloest we have to Urban AC. If you have a computer, you can listen to Touch 106.1 and Big City 101.3 online. Other than that, if you don't live in those three Urban Neighborhoods of Boston, you can not listen to them
I guess? the audience of Urban AC is not as big as before?

Pirates pop up around the Puget Sound too, though none have the signal reach or name recognition as those in Boston.

Boston must have a HUGE (and grossly ignored) Caribbean community to have so many Caribbean pirate stations.

Most Puget Sound pirates run during the weekends or holidays. Or keep erratic schedules. Or come and disappear as fast as they came (drive-by radio happens frequently around Seattle......) 101.1 is a popular frequency

two of which I know here (Touch 106.1) (Not related to ("The Touch" format) which is on 1620am
Touch 106.1 and Big City 101.3 pirates are on 24/7. There may or may not be radio host on the overnight. I don't know about that But they are on 24/7. I only hear them for a few minutes on my travels near my weekday job, because all those pirate stations I mentioend above can be heard in that area only (Unless you have access to internet, most of them broadcast online)
I forgot to mention one, a Hip Hop pirate station "Hot 87.7" They name themselves "Hot 97" because they were recently on 97.7 (used to be Radio-One) then around 2007, Entercom brought 97.7 made it a Rock Station
So that pirate station call themselves "Hot 97" but they are on 87.7. That signal can be heard in those same Boston Urban Neighborhood Cities, but that one can be heard in about 5 cities around inside Boston.
Some people claim to hear 87.7 well outside the city. I only get it in those Boston Urban Neighborhoods. That's the strongest signal
