HAPPY BIRTHDAY, POWER 106!!!!

Mister airchecks and Mister envius, you can each e-mail your address and I can send you copies of some of those airchecks...along with a bill for $10,000 for each one. Or I may just send them for free. You'll have to take a chance. :D

Im an absolute moron & never saw this reply.

Just shot you an email........ & a paypal for 10,000 dollars

I don’t know if you can ever find them now, but in December, 1986 I recorded 24 consecutive hours of Power106 for Earl McDaniel in Honolulu. I think it was to pick apart the format for his new station in Hawaii, but he never really ‘fessed up’. They were good quality recordings, for cassettes. The aircheckswere taped on a Technics processor speed-controlled, all solenoid glass-head machine..can’t remember the model number now, but he paid pretty well, so I purchased some TDK Audua cassettes (120’s…that’s the biggest downside), but I’d imagine they still sound great if you can locate them. They are unscoped, too.

I got a similar package from someone years ago...24 consecutive hours of Power 106 from April 1990. I still have most of them. Unfortunately, the tape deck ate two of the cassettes (they were also 120 min). Fortunately, I managed to digitize all the remaining tapes.

He has a show on Sirius/XM...but there's nothing like his Original shows on Power 106...I listen to his old shows from KPWR all the time.

In fact...if anyone has any airchecks of Power 106 from the 80s/early 90s, get in touch!

envious, do you have any Power 106 from the 80s and 90s yourself -- for the tapes?

I have a few things from the 90s. Baka Boyz on July 4th 94, a couple Baka Boyz friday night flavas etc

I doubt its anything you dont have, youre a pretty thorough collector.

Really sick I missed this offer :(

Wasn't the Baka Boyz from July 4, 94 a 'Back in the Day' special...where they played all the old hits of Power 106? If so, I think I'd be interested in that one.

Feel free to inbox me your email, and I'll send you a file that contains some audio from 1996. I also have Baka Boyz Thumpin Quick Mixes CD from '95 when I can get to storage and take it out.
