WBPT...to be or not to be licensed to Homewood...

I thought I was hearing things the other day while driving around in my car listening to The Eagle. I could have sworn I heard the station ID given as "WBPT, Gardendale-Birmingham", although I wasn't entirely sure since I had the volume turned down fairly low at the time. I did finally hear the ID again well enough today to verify that the station is identifying as being licensed to Gardendale rather than Homewood. I tried to check the FCC site to see if WBPT's city of license had been changed from Homewood to Gardendale, but, of course, with the gov't being shut down, that isn't happening. Anyone know if WBPT did indeed change their city of license to Gardendale...and if so, why?? Or is Summit Media totally clueless that WBPT is licensed to Homewood?? The only other reason I could come up with as far as "Gardendale" being given as the COL has to do with some type of pending move of WBPT's calls and format to the 97.3 frequency...but then again, that would be crazy for Summit Media to move WBPT's format down to 97.3, given how well The Eagle is now doing on 106.9. If such a move did occur, what would happen to "Y'all"...would it move to 106.9 or completely disappear? Either scenario seems equally insane...

Both recnet and radio locator still show it as Homewood. If it were changed before the government shutdown I'm sure they would have updated their sites by now & we know it hasn't been changed since the government shutdown so I would imagine it is still supposed to be Homewood.

A friend at CC told me Summit hired Erica Wood away from Magic. It would appear they will flip Y'all to an AC format.

<Cough>I'm...<Cough><Cough>sorry...I just had a difficult time there replying to your post from all that SMOKE u just blew. So...
Dr. Fever...how long have you worked for Summit Media? ;)

I don't work/live in Birmingham anymore. But I did work at CC a few years ago and I still talk to people there and the word is Erica quit to go work for Summit. Why else would Summit hire her if they weren't going to do an AC format?

If you were listening in '01, WBPT was still licensed to Birmingham at that time. The COL changed to Homewood in '04, when what was then WODL (later WNCB, WZNN and now WEZZ-FM) upgraded its facility and changed its COL from Homewood to Gardendale.
