I thought I was hearing things the other day while driving around in my car listening to The Eagle. I could have sworn I heard the station ID given as "WBPT, Gardendale-Birmingham", although I wasn't entirely sure since I had the volume turned down fairly low at the time. I did finally hear the ID again well enough today to verify that the station is identifying as being licensed to Gardendale rather than Homewood. I tried to check the FCC site to see if WBPT's city of license had been changed from Homewood to Gardendale, but, of course, with the gov't being shut down, that isn't happening. Anyone know if WBPT did indeed change their city of license to Gardendale...and if so, why?? Or is Summit Media totally clueless that WBPT is licensed to Homewood?? The only other reason I could come up with as far as "Gardendale" being given as the COL has to do with some type of pending move of WBPT's calls and format to the 97.3 frequency...but then again, that would be crazy for Summit Media to move WBPT's format down to 97.3, given how well The Eagle is now doing on 106.9. If such a move did occur, what would happen to "Y'all"...would it move to 106.9 or completely disappear? Either scenario seems equally insane...
