I also saw a commercial on CBS O&O UPN affiliate KTXA/21 here in Dallas/Fort Worth. My question will it only be on CBS O&O UPN affiliates or local stations nationwide?
______________

"No f*****g way!"

My question is this -- why even bother?

And I'm not even talking about the profanity. I'm talking about the content/subject matter of many of the episodes.

Both. Wiegel's WCIU-26/Chicago will air it this fall.

In Tampa/St. Petersburg it will air on WTOG-44, the UPN affiliate.

They're gonna have to do some creative editing to make it palatable for broadcast television. Probably much of it will come by shashing the two or three additional minutes necessary for additional commercials.
______________

The off-cable sitcom hit South Park will premiere in broadcast syndication as a weekday strip in Fall 2005.

South Park will be carried on stations from the Viacom, Tribune, Weigel, Belo, Scripps-Howard, Cox, Clear Channel, Raycom, Sinclair and Meredith broadcast groups.

Tribune Entertainment is distributing South Park under an exclusive deal with Debmar Studios and Mercury Entertainment. Under the agreement, Tribune Entertainment also oversees barter ad sales.

South Park, created by Matt Stone and Trey Parker, has aired on Comedy Central for seven seasons. The program, which was Comedy Central’s highest-rated series, was an immediate hit and quickly established the network as a growing player in the cable arena with cutting-edge original content that attracts some of the strongest demographics in cable television’s history.

Yes it'll be sanitized for OTA broadcasts. However of the 140+ episodes that was produced, only 12 of those will not air in syndication, and might include the one episode in which the "S" word was used in vain so many times.

South Park will air on KCAL/Los Angeles, WPSG/Philadelphia, WSBK/Boston, KBHK/San Francisco, and WCIU/Chicago.

Sanitizing South Park

I'd like to see how they're gonna "sanitize" South Park. After all this is the show, where one of the characters on the show is a pile of poop.
______________

I can see the sanitizing of this show drawing just as many complaints as the content itself. People, for the most part, already know what this show is about. Of course, you'll have a handful of dummies who just "stumbled upon it for the first time" and act like the show was burning holes in their skin it was sooo offensive. LOL

I am assuming that stations would only show them after 10pm (i.e. after late local news), so some of the more objectionable content would be OK and the later it airs, the more defense a station would have against complaints.

Add WDJT-58 Milwaukee (Or WMLW-CA 41 Milwaukee) to that list.

I knew it would be WMLW. WMLW is a "popular TV show" type of station.
