KSBJ to acquire KROY

According to Radio Insight, KSBJ is buying KROY 99.7 Palacios for $350,000.

The KROY signal (upgrade) is essentially identical to KXBJ 96.9, so it probably won't be a simulcast of the main KSBJ programming. However NGEN is already on KZBJ 89.5 Bay City. Might KSBJ move NGEN to 99.7 and sell off 89.5 (and move the KXBJ call to 99.7) ?

Also raises the question whether Roy Henderson might be ready to sell off more stations. I'll bet EMF would love to get KTWL to improve Air1 coverage in the NW part of the market, or perhaps KSBJ picks it up to put NGEN on a regular FM signal (NGEN is currently on KWUP 92.5 HD2 in that area.)

NGEN outage this morning - I don't think KSBJ was even on in HD at all because the radio reverted back to their analog stuff - back to DX'ing the Sugarland translator and have it attacked by every 99.5 in nearby cities. At least it does pretty well the closer you get to I-10 coming from the North. Super translator - I wish they could upgrade it!
 
Interesting.... I guess that explains why KROY is off the air? What about KHTZ they were off this weekend. It would be nice to have ngen radio on KHTZ.

KROY is booming into SE TX tonight...must be that "highly directional" antenna they are using :)

bet 99.5 Gator out of La is booming into Houston! the tropo maps is showing wide coverage over the upper Gulf..
 
Yeah, last night was pretty good. No Gator, but had KYKZ locked. 99-5 was fighting between the NGEN translator and KISS.

Others to mention from last night's festivities were KCOL Groves, KQXY Beaumont, KYKZ Lake Charles, KJXJ Franklin, KUZN Centerville, KYBI Lufkin, KAYD Silsbee (no KNTE surprisingly), KROX Buda, KTCX & KKMY Beaumont, KIOC Orange, and a hip hop station at 93-9, that I assume was from Lufkin.

That's the only hip hopper I know of at 93-9, but it was pretty strong, even though it was sitting butt up against local "93-7 The Beat". Never caught an ID or a commercial to tell me where it was coming from, but that's my assumption.

Yeah, you should be proud of yourself, too, for being a main Party to that which is before the FCC. I have known Mr. Henderson for a very long time. He has not done anything to cause your stupid wrath against him and his family. Before now, he never knew you from Adam. And he sees you picking on other broadcasters as well. He certainly knows a lot about you now, I am told, and he reportedly wants to bring you to justice for those transgressions, for him and his family and for other targeted broadcasters as well.
As a person who has had plenty of idle time to learn to become his own lawyer, you forgot to show the astute members of this forum that you have a clear history of filing things like that.

And he reportedly has and continues to impersonate a radio and television broadcaster, too, and that's why this is relevant to this board and forum. And a "pirate" broadcaster to boot! The fine for that is as high as $20,000 for each broadcast station ($40,000) and possible "further" jail time and the FCC Enforcement Bureau is hot on his tail now following a Formal Complaint that's been filed against 93QClassic.com.

CW, you have been baited by FortBend above. That's unfortunate. He just wants to get the news out there for his buddy.

He knows all about Kimberly Wright and her scam Informal Objection. He also knows that she and 93QClassic.com are REAL close as well. I am informed that she has been with him on some of his "travelling escapades" to Mr. Henderson's tower sites (and others) and studio visits. Even holding the camera for him. They ALL still can't accept the fact that Henderson's LPTV channels are no more. They continue to file crap at the Commission. And in 93QClassic's last PM to me they now want to black-mail Mr. Henderson into buying them an LPFM channel and said in a threat that they would never back off if their demands weren't met. That's illegal. I expect a threat of arson or even worse will be the next to come. I feel so sorry for the Henderson family. They never asked for any of this and knowingly never hurt anyone and have been faithful small-market broadcasters for over forty-four years.

FortBend and 93QClassic.com need to be BANNED from this board immediately to avoid the board being held accountable along with them. This is far from over. Someone (maybe more) is going to jail and owing a lot of money over this. And his creep friend, ftballfan, in Michigan, may as well.

Just was scanning the old msgs...and saw an error in this, PD....

KKMY is licensed to Orange, not Beaumont (and was supposed to be on the same tower as KIOC when it moved off the old KOBS/KZOM tower that was dropped a few months back...but instead ended up on the newer KBTV tower right next door 200 ft lower than originally planned..ehh its signal much better into Beaumont now...which is the reason for the move anyway)...

NOW where was that one posting done by a certain someone who claimed they were threw with filing complaints against radio stations but yet as of TODAY, posted a msg saying "never thought" he "would be filing against rouge stations" or to that effect?? HHHMMMMM

BIG tip of the day: YOU CAN microwave a Butterball turkey breast!!! takes a little over an hour at 50% power....comes out perfect.....juicy, tender and JUST shade pink on the inside...but the temperature probe showed more than normal cooking temp at the hour mark!! (even Butterball precooked turkeys show some pink as well...normal according to them!)...

Hey I figure we deal with turkey radio all the time..why not give a little cooking info?? :)

Heard KROY back on yesterday, Funny how Joe is still pursuing other broadcasters, but leaving the old man alone. I see where he pulled his petition on the old man's KEMA and revived that again.
