You've got it backwards, Anonymouse. Daij leases time to Sangeet Radio (1460 KBRZ/95-1 K236AR) Radio Esmirna (1380 KRCM), the Fort Bend folks (1460 KBRZ) and RAFFT (106-1 K291CE). Daij Media, in name, doesn't own K291CE, but it is affiliated with HCCN and Cesar Guel, who is also affiliated with Daij Media. RAFFT is attempting to purchase K291CE from HCCN, but other than that and the ongoing lease of 106-1, there's no affiliation between the two companies that I've ever been made aware.
Whew! That was a mouthful.
Oh BTW, lost in all of this is the fact we've all forgotten about 88-1, which is one of theirs too. I don't know what the plan for KMIC (or whatever it will become) would be. The more I think about it, wasn't Sangeet Radio part time even on KILE (now KGOW)? They may not have the financial ability to purchase 24 hours a day of KMIC's time, which likely would mean that what you hear on 980/880 currently will shift over to 1590, and 980 & 880's time will be leased to other interested parties.
Guess we'll all know here fairly soon. I did some searching around, and this announcement came down 3 days ago, only today being reported by Insight, and posted here by our esteemed stalwart Mediafrog. I'd assume they'll control KMIC's programming by Thanksgiving.
