New LOCAL owners…95.7 104.1 105.5

wilks sold them to "one putt" broadcasting. It is a combination of Ostland (kjwl etc) and Pacheco. Wilks bought them in 2005 for $25 million and sold them for only $6.6 million, a typical post great recession price.

I LIKE that idea ;) Mr. Ostland?

I think the combo would be complementary, give KYNO an FM signal, and the AM signal would still be valuable being that it would cover the 105.5 shadow areas like N Fresno and NE Clovis, which is where the 1430 sticks are, and I see a ratings increase.

I like the idea as well, but I would put KYNO AM on 790 so that the deuce would have better coverage on 1430. Also I hope somehow CBS sports radio continues to be carried some where.

In a perfect world for me 105.5 would be the deuce with cbs sports radio and Grizzlies baseball.

And what about a new transmitter site -- "relocation" to the 95.3 KBHH Kerman site on Horse Thief Ridge. That is where it was when the old KVPC 105.5 B1 San Joaquin first went on the air. Good coverage.

West of I-5 at about + 2700 feet. The new site of 95.3 A KBHH Kerman which now puts a better signal into Fresno and the entire area. It was the first site of the 105.5 as a B1 with full 25 KW ERP + 100 M HAAT. The 105.5 B1 could be heard for over a 75 mile radius from the old site on Horse Thief Ridge.

Why did 105.5 move to a site with less coverage? On a side note I notice 95.9 is moving out of Livingston and changing frequency to 97.1 with a new transmitter site, going from 3 to 6kw and a new city of license.

Bad ratings. "the wolf" 105.5 B1 - then owned by Methosphere -- had to find fault with something -- because they paid some BIG BUCKS to Susan Lundberg & Bill Zawila -- the two persons who had first applied for the then class "A" channel at San Joaquin. When you pay a few Million -- for a radio station - but don't buy the ratings -- you should expect not to be counted in that book. The local radio engineers -- came up the the lame idea to move the transmitter site down to the valley floor. The signal was so good -- it over shot parts of the Fresno-Clovis area.
To bad those same local engineers -- did not remember why all of the Fresno FM stations re-located from sites on the valley floor to Meadow Lakes. And if you are one of those idiots -- someone should take away your tool box. I am sorry to hold back on how I feel about the "Downgrading" of 105.5 B1. LOL

actually there are a number of stations who don't buy the book that get great ratings. for example KRCK Palm Springs. It looks like the problem with 105.5 was poor programing.

I think the signal is cleaner and better now than when KJZN had all that height. I remember the 105.5 signal was nothing but multi-path in most of the Fresno area, it was unlistenable. That's why they moved it closer to Fresno where it is now.

The format was the major problem at that time. Then they blamed the signal -- and started to play around with different types of antennas. That caused most of the signal problems. They never found the right antenna combination to use. KBHH 95.3 A with just 6 KW ERP works ok from that site.

Actually I don't know where you are listening from, but KBHH 95.3 has a terrible signal in N/E Fresno and Clovis, even though I think valley floor signals are not good, It's the distance from that site to Fresno that's bad, and if it was as high as Meadow Lakes that might be different.

Okay I want to retract what i said, KBHH 95.3 has a better signal in general than before, I Think Mondospere wanted more City intensity with 105.5 in the metro area.
