Radio-Locator.com

... Do they provide changes resulting from other stations on the same frequency or nearby frequencies, or from terrain? If not, forget it.

They show the distances to several groundwave field values per the charts of the FCC. Those distances are based on the radiated power and frequency, and the ground conductivities for such paths per the FCC M3 earth conductivity map.

Other software is available for interference studies with respect to co- and adjacent-channels, including provision for using data about earth conductivities along those paths that might be more accurate than shown on the FCC M3 chart.

But the use of that software is not free -- even for limited queries per day.

Thanks for the link. I've landed on that site by accident a couple times. Very useful.

Too bad the coverage maps aren't superimposed on a geographical map.... but you can't have everything. At least it shows the major lobes, nulls, etc. for the AMers. Which is still quite useful if one is a DXer.

R-L maps are wrong anyway...their "local" is actually the 60dbU service contour....their distant circle is actually fringe, etc (same thing with their AM maps as well)..they do NOT show City Grade/3.16mV contour..which IS local...they have been told but wont change

Accurate or not, the maps on RadioLocator are still easier to use than the FCC grid maps.

Radio-Locator has had this rule for a long time. Back from when the site started in 2000 or so.

This site has FM contours you can look up without restriction.

Looks like this website will be dead and obselete in a month from now. R.I.P. NJPIRG Database ????-2015. And it's all Google's fault because they decided they wanted to go to the new Google Maps, but NJPIRG thought no way, so yeah, goodbye NJPIRG.
