They show the distances to several groundwave field values per the charts of the FCC. Those distances are based on the radiated power and frequency, and the ground conductivities for such paths per the FCC M3 earth conductivity map.
Other software is available for interference studies with respect to co- and adjacent-channels, including provision for using data about earth conductivities along those paths that might be more accurate than shown on the FCC M3 chart.
But the use of that software is not free -- even for limited queries per day.
