I hope this does not blow the plans cbs has for 96.5

To all your speculations, the former Wired is not going to be AMP, the plans are for an Alternative/Rock format. Now that I exposed this I wonder if it will still go into effect. I am a big mouth and let the cat out of the bag but I wanted everyone to know the REAL deal and plans...

I think that it was not a cat, but rather a unicorn, that you let out of the bag.

I don't necessarily think some form of Rock is out of the question but I'm sure they wouldn't be trying to get a piece of Radio 104.5's action. Anyone in his right mind would want to do it in a way that targets males. That having been said, yeah, there's just about no way CBS would be doing Alt Rock here.

That's not to say I'm convinced that Amp is coming. While Alt Rock is obviously unlikely, I don't see what good it's gonna do CBS to keep going after Q102. 96.5 FM has been fighting that losing battle for quite some time. Changing to the "Amp" name and imaging (which Philadelphia's radio audience is unfamiliar with and about which they surely couldn't care less) is not going to stop the bleeding. I'm particularly confused about why CBS changed the playlist on 96.5 to make it more closely align with that of Q102. At least they were previously offering something different. What is the point of copying Q102 when Q102 is already has the covered and has been beating 96.5 at the game for years?

Just seems super fishy.

Here's what's going down. 98.1 is going back to being a chr that actually plays hits music when people still like the songs and are not already burnt on them before they get added like the chr stations of today, as 98 cau-fm. It will be like listening to the q102 4 months from now, today(powers Wiz Khalifah Omi and Pitbull w Chris Brown).

96.5 is launching a 50's and 60s oldies station with lots of doo-wop, the station will be called 96.5 GRAMP RADIO!

Love what they did with 96.5. Alternative rock on the left channel and KYW-FM on the right. I guess everyone was correct.

...or maybe not...

Hahah that was funny as hell HGN. It would at least shut everyone up. Alt rock and kyw- a surrealist nightmare.

has the music changed at all on 96.5 as AMP ?

its still likely KYW could be on 96.5 some day .
cbs airs news on FM in other cities.

Why Alternative Rock a nightmare, but if the OP said some sort of urban, hip hop or rap format you would be jumping for joy....If you arm chair posters had it your way everything on the dial would be some sort of urban format. Its a very sad situation...
