any info on how 103.3 is fairing??

I know u can't really hear them(grrr) unless u have the app download, but I wonder if it's taken a bite out of kiss?? It has to be to some extent.

Not sure where you're reporting from, but most anywhere inside of 1604 nets a pretty decent reception of 103-3. It's been a very good signal on the Southside, where I am, since Alpha finally got the kinks worked out.

Knowing that San Antonio hasn't had a "new rock" (if you wanna call it that) format in the past few years, I'm sure it would have a huge impact to listeners who favor the format that are fans of 101X in Austin. That's only if 103.3 was a 100,000 watt station. However, that's not the case, unlike how Hot 104.5 debut with a Rhythmic format with a focus on old school (bringing something new and fresh to the market) and crunching 98.5's ratings. I'm thinking 103.3 would make little to possibly no impact to 99.5 Kiss. Then again, if 103.3 took off a chunk of 99.5's ratings, then that's what I would expect if the App is doing fairly well.

PPM's came out this passed week and not even a blurp. Still too early but the next few months should say something about this format in SA.

I don't think App has been registered yet (I'm sure it'll be under KTFM-HD2). Only time will tell when it will be under the ratings.

Then again 99.5 just went up 3.8 to 4.4 in the last month. Looks like no effect at all. Sad, guess San Antonio loves the same 90's-early 2000's nu-metal and grunge garbage...

A lot of it has to do with San Antonians having their brains KISSed for all of these years. The App has been on for 6 or 7 weeks now, and I still have both friends and family members that ask "Hey, Joe. Where'd you say that new station was?" Still getting accustomed to having a 103-3 on the air in San Antonio at all. Heck, I'd wager a bet. Talk about 103 FM to most San Antonians and they'll think you're talking about the old KTFM. I think it'll make some headway, but it certainly won't take KISS down. The more likely scenario seems like if it does well, another larger signal will flip to Alternative, signaling the alarm for Alpha to come up with something else innovative for 103-3. Either that, or Alpha wakes up and takes the electric bill for KHHL more seriously and links it up with 103-3 as someone else suggested, and gives The App a legitimate coverage area. Time will tell, but 103-3 is doing what it's doing for one reason. They are testing the market to see if it will be worthwhile to launch the format on a real facility.

I actually thought of a tagline for App: "Hey, 99.5, kiss this! San Antonio's Alternative, 103-3 The App." I know, dumb and they won't do it :p

The App rocks, and KISS can kiss my ASS.

97-7 used to have people call in and say something like that. Another good station which has left us. Oh well. I did like the fact that they used to play my voice messages on the air, though.

That. Is. Awesome!

If Alpha were to ever use it, I'd take a screenshot of this page so you can refer to it when you demand payment for your services. Nicely done, E-Cam.

While we're on the subject of taglines...

For KBBT:
"Beat the heat! Turn on The Beat!"

I remembered being in the San Antonio area circa 2004 when 102.7 was K-Rock. I remembered them saying "99.5 likes to Kiss, we like to Rock, 102.7 K-Rock" or something like that.

No problem and thanks. It's up for grabs!
