I heard a spot for KYAF's new radio-tradio type show (that's gonna work out great) on KFUN the other day. The music does sound good, better than a stream usually does. As far as coverage goes it seems to be as good as one could expect from a LPFM seems to cover the city of Hanford fine most LPFM's don't quite cover the COL.
Last saturday, I got it all the way to 1st and 1/2 on 198 (sounded good to 2nd). I was only getting it to 7th Ave last time I checked. Then later took 6th Ave to Excelsior and held the station strong to 15th Ave.
Also apparently it is a classic rock station now, and selling ads. Customers are called "underwriting advertisers."
Lpfm's are supposed to be non-profit.
Wonder how much Hanford Youth Services it getting from this. Funny this organization only seems to exist on google to the fcc.

All the way to the navy base via 198 last Thursday, strong signal through Lemoore. West of 41 something starts to interfere.
So, I wonder if the Lemoore High School LPFM on 93.3 does as well towards Hanford. It seems, as flat as the terrain is there, that each, 92.5 and 93.3, should have close to equal signal strength at each others' location. But I get the impression, granted from limited information, that the Hanford station is much stronger in Lemoore than the Lemoore station is in Hanford. Hmmm??

The Station ID that KOAD is running is not legal.
It should be KOAD-LP Hanford.

No 93.3 does not do too well in Hanford last I checked. You can hear 93.3 in spots (in and out in a car) in Hanford and north to Laton, along the 41 out of Lemoore strong to Elkhorn Ave then gone.
So then I started checking mileage, Elkhorn is farther from 93.3 than Hanford is. It seems that both stations go about 9 miles in any direction from the tower, but 92.5 sounds better (nearly perfect) with in the entire circumference. On a shorter stick with slightly less watts. Not enough how ever to indicate any wrong doing. Perhaps better engineering at 92.5.

Both KOAD-LP and Hanford Youth Services are located at 102 West 7th Street in Hanford. Stanley Houseworth is listed as KOAD-LP's board-appointed secretary.

According to Hanford Youth Services' articles of incorporation, filed with the Secretary of State's office -- and this is a word-for-word quote -- "The specific purpose of this corporation is to city and central California Safety Education School updates via radio broadcasting."
I cannot begin to guess what that could possibly mean.

To be clear here, you are NOT a 501(c)(3) and have not received a determination letter from the IRS, so any "contributions" to your "501c3 non profit" are not tax-deductible.
I hope you have made this very clear to any donors, Verne.
Oh yeah and it is now billed as a classic rock station, so it isn't even a underserved format. Two classic rock stations already serve Hanford.

Sounds like a 501(c)(4) to me -- or perhaps a (c)(10) -- but in any case, old Verne/Denise/whoever better tell the contributors they can only deduct half of the money they give.

My apology to Verne and Denise -- I don't know if their IRS determination just came through, but I didn't see it in the IRS database the first time I searched with their EIN.
If I'm not wrong I think Elba Torres owed it just before IHR Bought it
