Closed circuit for KPNX Mesa...better give Charlie new copy for the news open:
"From 12 News, your 'we don't say Geela Bend' station, it's Jive At Five with Mark Curtis, Leeenda Alvarrrez Jr., Caribe Devine with weather, and Bruce Cooper on sports..."
You gotta be kidding me, Prescott Joe. Now you want Spanish words not to be pronounced correctly? You're so silly.
I have an idea...why don't you worry about your own lack of English grammar skills? After all, this is still "THE UNITED STATES," and here we use proper English grammar, "if they're," instead of moronic English grammar, like "If their."
REALLY???? All the Europeans and others that settled in the U.S. should have demanded that we
honor their pronunciations as well. Simply stated: Many here are tired of the bastardization of The
English Language. Like I said, we are NOT IN MEXICO or Central America! As for my grammar, I'd agree
that my computer skills are lacking......but my knowledge of English and a few other languages are first
rate.........
Isn't it more like the bastardization of Spanish words by English speakers? She isn't mispronouncing English words, she's correctly pronouncing Spanish words that were borrowed by English speakers.
NOT funny
So you are not familiar with the history on local news on 12 back in the day, and the particular Hispanic anchor who also tended to "over-pronounce" her name?
Or is it the Gila Bend reference that displeases you? Or maybe "Jive At Five"?
How do you want Vanessa to pronounce say, German or French names? Helmut Kohl. Francoise Mitterand. (I realize those two examples are of former leaders, but, well...pick your foreign language!)
Just so I can try to get inside your discombobulated rationale...it's OK for an Italian-American, or a chef of unknown racial heritage, to pronounce an Italian word like "ricotta" with an accent, but it's not OK for a Mexican-American to pronounce a Spanish word with an accent?
And a News anchor correctly pronouncing Spanish words is un-American, but your poor grammar skills are somehow not bastardizing your precious language?
Oh, Hypocrisy, thy name is Prescott Joe.
The only one in a coma is you, Prescott Joe...
KP, you are a man who could have been great except you are not very good!
