Maybe if the transmitter was moved southeast of Knoxville. 850 might be able to utilize a lower-power, non-directional signal.Meanwhile their old format continues on WGAP 1400. Their music is great, it's just too bad they don't have the signal that 850 did.

Since I'm sorta new, why did they go silent a year to begin with?
It was 50kw daytime only three tower directional if IIRC. The transmitter site was on leased land and the land owner wanted the ground for something else. It sounds like new land, towers, and ground systems would have been prohibitively expensive.
