Poledo, point well taken.
Since this is a radio board. I will start with...radio.
We went all Christmas music on December 24th thru mid Dec 26. No announcers (so everyone could spend time with family) promos or sweepers ...gasp (just a legal ID). We had one stop set in selected hours and that was Christmas greetings from our clients (and was limited to 4 in a set), most :15 seconds each).
Now, my personal views and observations:
This year was a good Christmas for us. We got to spend time with family we haven't seen in 30 years. We walked the downtown district of the town we visited and everyone was happy.
Sales were down (according to retailers), fellowship was up. We decided no to buy gifts, but dine and reflect on family memories from the many years past.
If corporate America and all of those who despise the holiday really want to walk the walk. Then close in protest. Also I have decided not to support any big box store that opens on Thanksgiving.
