Any local stations tape delay national late night programming?

I am wondering if any of the late-night programming in your area gets "bumped" to a later time in favor of syndicated reruns or local programming. Kimmel was tape-delayed one hour later in favor of Modern Family and Big Bang reruns until January 2015. Anyone else currently do something like that?

WEAR-TV (both "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and "Nightline" by 30 minutes) and WALA-TV (all of the FOX Broadcasting Company's programming for Saturday nights by 30 minutes) in the designated market area for Mobile, Alabama and Pensacola, Florida.

Could you give me the name of the station you were typing about?

In my market, like others in the Central Time Zone, we were used to getting late night shows on delay. WHBQ when it was an ABC affiliate delayed Nightline by 1 hour. When ABC moved to WPTY/WATN, Nightline started airing "live" at 10:35, but the show airing after that was pushed back by 2 hours, then 1 hour. WMC delayed David Letterman by an hour in his last season with NBC. When Letterman moved to CBS, WREG aired him "live" at 10:35 for the first week or so, but then he was delayed by a half-hour, until he moved back to 10:35 in Season 2.

BTW tall_guy1, are you in Kansas City? I believe all of the late night shows are aired "live" there now.

KTUU in Anchorage until 2009 delayed the Tonight Show (and Saturday Night Live) by half an hour to 11:00pm; KSAT (San Antonio) and WISN (Milwaukee) have hour-long late newscasts at 10:00 followed by Jimmy Kimmel at 11:00.

But CBS late night pre-September 1993 was a different story. Some affiliates opted to delay the block by 1 1/2, even two hours; WWL (New Orleans) and WKRG (Mobile) being the examples.

And oh yeah, lest we forget KSAT's sister station KPRC in Houston running Jay Leno at 10:35 as usual...followed by four other shows and then Conan O'Brien finally at 2:40 in the am!!!!

KPRC 2 NBC Houston use to show the Connan show like am 1 or 2 am he even and fun of this the last 2 yrs he was on network tv

WFSB in Hartford delays The James Cordon Show by half an hour starting it at 1:07AM rather than at 12:37AM. They rerun the 7:30PM of Entertainment Tonight at 12:37AM. It's been like that for years no matter who the host of the 12:37AM show has been.

WFSB now airs Corden "live" at 12:37, pushing the ET rerun to 1:37.

Channel 3 even replayed it at night in the 1980s, when they had local rights to the show the first time. Even before David Letterman was airing at 11:35 PM ET. Before Letterman, they carried Arsenio Hall's first talk show around 1991-92 or so. I don't remember if the late night replay was immediately after that though.

I don't remember how many years it has been but I think Charlotte's WSOC put Kimmel after "Nightline" when he began and showed something else in his slot.
