In my market, like others in the Central Time Zone, we were used to getting late night shows on delay. WHBQ when it was an ABC affiliate delayed Nightline by 1 hour. When ABC moved to WPTY/WATN, Nightline started airing "live" at 10:35, but the show airing after that was pushed back by 2 hours, then 1 hour. WMC delayed David Letterman by an hour in his last season with NBC. When Letterman moved to CBS, WREG aired him "live" at 10:35 for the first week or so, but then he was delayed by a half-hour, until he moved back to 10:35 in Season 2.
BTW tall_guy1, are you in Kansas City? I believe all of the late night shows are aired "live" there now.
