Ok, so i can't deny, I have enjoyed a few tracks on "99.5 the South" - I mean, I about fell out of my driver's seat in my car when I heard "Ain't Life Grand" from Widespread Panic come on a 100,000 watt station. That being said, I'm very fearful although clearly several people on social media like it, the playlist can't be more than 100 songs or so, which means it is probably stunting until Memorial Day.
That being said - here are a few facts I have come across over the last few days. Apparently "Leland and AJ" who actually put Crawford's 101.1 'on the map' have left 101.1. So has former reporter Andrea Lindenburg. Rumor has it Matt Murphy has "been on vacation" and I saw another post stating his show will no longer be carried in Montgomery (and I think it was on in Huntsville too? - wouldn't know, never listened)
So that's three local jocks / talk radio folks who have left their respective local slots in the last few weeks.
Are we getting a new 100,000 watt talker in Birmingham the day after Memorial Day?
