Movies is off fox25.2! Oh, my god!

WFXT-TV has taken Movies! off channel 25.2 and replaced it with another channel called Escape! It's a station about crime TV shows.

What is odd about that is that Escape! is also still on WUTF 66.4, which has carried it since it debuted. Movies! is partially owned by the Fox Television Stations, and now that WFXT is no longer owned by Fox, may be showing some independence.

WUTF probably will change to something else on 66.4, Movies! might be a possibility?

WLWC, Providence, still carries Movies! on 28.2, and can be received in much of the Boston area.

The motel I just stayed at in Brattleboro, VT only carried WFXT-TV channel 25-1...without any audio! I had a little indoor antenna with me, however:

1- I probably wouldn't have picked up WFXT from the north end of Brattleboro.
2- The Panasonic TV in the room was an old CRT "tube" TV from 2000. (Yes...really!)

LAFF is available for me on WFSB-TV channel 3-2 of Hartford. They carry Escape on channel 3-3.

Does this mean 66.4 will drop Escape? Seems unusual that two sub-channels would carry the same programming.

It doesn't seem likely that WFXT would have wanted to add Escape if they had to share it for very long with WUTF. And WUTF would benefit from having something unique.

Maybe—if, in fact, WHDH and NBC do go their separate ways—this is the start of a major programming shuffle?

As long as the check clears, I doubt WFXT cares if it's duplicating what's on WUTF.

True, but if there are local ad slots to sell they would probably push for an exclusive. This gets Escape on Comcast and probably other systems, since WFXT must have that in their retransmission consent agreements. On WUTF it wasn't on Comcast.

Another shuffle - WMFP has replaced Cozi in 720p on 62-1 with SBN (SonLife / Jimmy Swaggart) in 720p.
Cozi remains on 62-2 in 480i.

62-1 would be a perfect place for NBC Boston....

Unfortunately, ComCast only carries 62-1.

Escape pays to play.

And Cozi is owned by NBC Universal / Comcast... 62-1 is the must-carry sub channel, so when WMFP put SBN on 62-1, leaving Cozi on 62-2, it disappeared automatically, However, it gets stranger - saw this posted elsewhere and checked on the Cozi page on Twitter where this is displayed "Attention Bostonians….. @COZITV has moved to 60.3, please re-scan your tv. Thanks." That 60-3 being the supposed future NBC affiliate WNEU owned by NBC Universal. Trip has 60-3 listed as Cozi on his RabbitEars site already.

That makes sense - therefore WFXT doesn't care who else carries Escape, or if anyone even watches it. Escape is not gaining much being on WUTF's subchannel that isn't carried on cable, but probably has a contract to complete with WUTF.

Sorry about the duplicate post - browser quirk - and there is no delete function...

I donʼt know about 60.3, but as of yesterday, 62.2 is currently gone, PERIOD: No Cozi or anything—it goes from 62.1 to 62.3 to 62.4!
