OK...Nat Geo on ch 13 in Bird Springs? Very odd channel placement. USA, TBS, CNN is very rare on 2-13, but that might be one of a kind.
And I didn't know there was other systems that had Discovery in the 2-13 range...I always thought the only ones were Comcast Seattle (ch 8) and Comcast Portland/Eugene (ch 7). On Comcast, Discovery is IN the Lifeline/Limited Basic service!

I wouldnt call CNN or TBS in the 2-13 area rare. I brought back up this thread mentioning that in Minneapolis CNN is on 3 and TBS is on 7

In Forrest City, AR, the Independence County Cable TV company has WGN America on ch 9 and Spike on ch 12. Rest of it is network stations from Memphis, Jonesboro and KTHV Little Rock on 11.

Channel 23 per their listings says WZAW 7.3 which means they are getting it from WSAW so its SD only

per zap2it they do carry CBS Marquette on 40, PBS on 38 (although zap2it is goofy...they list the CW in 3 spots)
anywho the Detroit networks are on what they call CANCOM (now called Shaw Communications). Thats what most cable companies in Canada use for the US Nets (Detroit or Buffalo in the East, Seattle or Spokane in the West). Shaw provides the feeds for them. They also carry Minneapolis for Thunder Bay and Winnipeg on their satellites. So I'm sure the podunk cable realized it was easier to use CANCOM than try to get signals from Marquette. But what I dont get is they dont carry ABC from Marquette....even though its a subchannel on the CW affiliate near Houghton (Calumet) whihc is the only station OTA.
Heck they even carry CKPR from Thunder Bay!!
Karban MAY have had WMQF at one point (Land O'Lakes is right on the Michigan border and WMQF was available on FTA satellite). Speaking of WSAW, they do have a translator in Sayner (W42DH-D)

OK...that one might be one of a kind. Instead of having something semi-common like TBS or CNN at ch 12, they put in Investigation Discovery? That is very odd. Does Charter think Brainerd residents need a little bit of "Who the (Bleep) Did I Marry," "Fear Thy Neighbor" and "Fatal Vows" very low on the dial? Wonder what the crime rate is for that part of MN...
