I saw the movie "Best Defense" from the mid-1980s. Dudley Moore's character was listening to KIIS on the radio. Rick Dees was on. I know him mainly from "Solid Gold", but I'd like to hear more of his nonsense.

I personally witnessed Dees losing it when Shotgun Tom was there filming all his great KIIS Video stuff. Rick Dees was like working with NapoleanDoes anyone have a copy of the audio where Dees "loses it" because somebody moved his tapes? It was real Caine Mutiny type display. I guess he is/was a real piece of work back in the day. Lots of stories about temper tantrums.

In the 1981 film "Modern Romance" Albert Brooks gets in his car and turns on KIIS-FM. This was pre-Dees so the dj heard is Lon Thomas, who was doing morning drive at the time.
Apples/oranges comparison. Morgan never appeared on camera. He was only the announcer, not the host. At least Dees DIDN'T try to sing other performers' hits the way that Dionne Warwick, Marilyn McCoo, and maybe even Andy Gibb did.Robert W. Morgan was so much better on Solid Gold than Rick could ever be.
Only serious role in which I ever saw Dees: as the announcer in La Bamba.
Any audio or video would be much appreciated. I believe rants, particularly loud off the cuff-ones are funny! There are several examples of sports coaches getting into it, but on the music side, Casey Kasem's "Snuggles" clip remains the king. I have watched it dozens of times and it is still LOL funny. Mrs. CF says there is nothing funny about rants and that there is something wrong with me for thinking there is. She doesn't get it.
Dees on KIIS-FM was the first intelligible voice on "L.A. Law"...he's playing on the radio in Arnie Becker's Porsche as the pilot episode (1986) opens: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQr01IMqhH4
