They preempted that for this?

I haven't seen anything about the funeral being broadcast anywhere but I did find out there is a live feed of his casket in his library for visitation.
I ate lunch at a restaurant that usually has "The View" or "The Price Is Right" or both on TV. Sometimes both TVs have "Price". Yesterday they both had Billy Graham coverage. One had the logo of the ABC affiliate in the lower right corner and the other had the CBS affiliate logo.

WLOS/13 in Asheville only preempts for ACC basketball on Saturday afternoons; any other games are shifted to WMYA-40, and that includes the ACC tournament. I think that ABC wants WLOS to air all of their prime time shows. General Hospital fans are lucky that WMYA carries the games these days during the tourney.

I assumed the Billy Graham special that showed up in place of "Bob's Burgers" on my TiVo was local. I just saw the national broadcast ratings and it was there, so "Bob" never aired. Actually, "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" is what starts the 7:00 hour. I tape that first hour regardless of what is on because occasionally something is on that I wouldn't have seen any other way.

with the NCAA B-Ball tourney in full force the 2 CBS stations I can get are making the following changes
WCCO Minneapolis is pushing Wheel from 6:30 to 1:37 (after the late late show) replacing a replay of the 10pm newscast

KEYC Mankato has more changes
-The Noon and 6PM newscasts on KEYC CBS are being pushed over to their FOX subchannel
-The 10pm newscast that is on CBS will be on the FOX sub at 10 but also shown after b-ball on CBS (FOX sub has a daily 9pm newscast)
-The programs on FOX that normally are on at noon, 6pm and 10pm are being pushed to late night. Hot Bench (noon) is being shown at 2am. Modern Family (6p & 10p) are being shown at 1 & 1:30am. The Game, which is normally on at 1am, will be shown at 2:30.
-Wheel is being pushed to 1:37 (from 6:30) after the late late show. Last Man Standing will be shown after that (normally LMS is on after the late late show)

Note KEYC signs off nightly (CBS at 1:07 and FOX at 1:30am during the week) so these schedule changes do not affect the overnight programming much ;)

WFSB is pre-empting Let's Make a Deal on the days they're airing the NCAA tournament starting at Noon. "Deal" normally airs at 10AM on WFSB. Their local talk show Better Connecticut is airing at 10AM. Normally Better Connecticut airs at 3PM. Inside Edition is also pre-empted due the NCAA tournament, but they're still promoting the episodes on their Facebook page.

Someone still airs Better? I thought even the local editions (like Better Nashville) went away when Meredith pulled the plug on the syndicated show...

The past two days KIMA/KEPR have not aired Judge Judy due to NCAA basketball, same with Funny You Should Ask at noon. They clear Dr. Phil at 3PM (regular time) and moved Big Bang, The Simpsons and Inside Edition to 9-11PM. One of the other slots has an INFOMERCIAL. Are you so cheap that you can't have a 9PM local newscast...like almost every other CBS station in the west? Sometimes the 'only Yakima news team, taking action for you' doesn't live to its promises. 11pm is a 10-minute 'prerecorded' Yakima insert taped at KEPR Pasco followed by the rest of the KEPR news. But the normal 5 and 6PM broadcasts are (mostly) from the Yakima studio.
They have cleared the 2:00PM TPIR, some CBS stations aren't doing this. CBS has tape-delayed a rerun of Price 4 hours later during NCAA coverage, since Bob Barker was hosting.

There's numerous other preemptions throughout the country for syndicated shows on CBS stations. For example, there's about 10 CBS stations (including WHIO and WTSP) that are not clearing Wheel of Fortune this Thur-Fri and next Thur-Fri either. Others like KTVT are relegating the show to sister stations (in the case of KTVT, KTXA airs Wheel on NCAA nights).

WFSB, which is owned by Merideth still produces Better Connecticut. It's a very popular show hosted by WFSB weather man Scot Haney and news anchor Kara Sundlun. Originally airing live at 10AM it now airs live on tape at 3PM with an actual live news and weather update at 3:30PM - except sometimes during snow storms they will air an actual live version at 3PM. Although I never saw other "local" versions of "Better" it's my understanding that WFSB's version didn't rely as much on syndicated content in later years.

But are they really? During the ACC Tournament "MacGyver" got bumped until after Corden. Halfway through my recording, Corden still wasn't over. I'll have to wait for the rerun.

Furthermore, although I saw the end of "Big Bang" (the recording was cut off during the commercial break) during what was supposed to be "Young Sheldon" I lost the end of "Sheldon" because I don't record "Mom" and the end of "Life in Pieces" because I don't record "S.W.A.T."

I'm not talking about the ACC tourney that was on OTA stations in ACC territory (elsewhere it was on ESPN)...this is the NCAA tourney I'm talking about. But the rules on both probably apply.
After the last game of the night there is a 35 minute newsbreak then Colbert starts. So if the last game runs late (as it did yesterday) then everything gets pushed back. I was just making the point that in Minneapolis Wheel is being pushed to 1:37 (which is a hour later than normal...again Central timezone here so news is at 10 and Colbert starts 10:35) or whenever the network shows get done :)

Couple additions to my original post
Dr Phil (normally on at 3PM) is pre-empted completelly in Minneapolis. Mankato (KEYC) normally replays it at 11PM on FOX sub. It was reruns Thursday and Friday.
Ellen (normally on at 4) is JIP'd on both WCCO and KEYC

Right. There's no guarantee anything will air after the games when they say it will, regardless of who is playing. You say "Wheel" airs at 1:37, but does it?

it did Thursday Night/Friday morning ;)
Friday Night/Saturday morning it was 1/2 hour or so late...but as I wrote in my original post it was on "after the late late show".

also last night KEYC aired its 6pm newscast on FOX sub due to the NCAA
No changes tonight as the only newscast they have is the 10pm one on CBS (FOX sub has a nightly 9pm newscast) although it will be about 37 minutes late due to network programming running long

same thing this Thursday and Friday
KEYC News 12 at 6 & 10 will be on FOX sub (and shown on KEYC CBS after the NCAA game)
Both KEYC & WCCO will have Wheel on AROUND 1:37am or whenever the national programming gets done....could be 1:37, could be 1:45, could be 2:30 ;)

Oh and I see KEYC is moving its 2nd running of Last Man Standing (normally on at 12:37 or after Corden is done) they are shifting it to FOX at 2am for tonight and tomorrow night. So Modern Family is on at 1 & 1:30am, LMS at 2am and the game at 2:30am (both stations sign off nightly...damn they will only turn off the transmitter for less than 2 hours tonight :) (they sign on at 5am)

Going to dig this nugget up because its happening again

WREG in Memphis has been terrible in recent years about filling non-sports times on Saturday and Sunday afternoons with infomercials. They already had infomercials scheduled for the 2 or 3 hours before the golf coverage was supposed to start this weekend. CBS definitely doesn't need to be turning even more time over to the local stations to do nothing but fill it with infomercials.

If it's like it usually is, there will be some weekends between now and when Football starts in the Fall that CBS will have no sports of any kind and guess what a lot of stations like WREG will fill that time with: Infomercials. :p

Oh I agree. My CBS (WCCO) which again is O&O has 2 hours of paid programs tomorrow (noon-2) and 3 hours (11-2) tomorrow before network programming is on. I looked at next Saturday when NBC has the golf (British Open) so CBS has no network programming. So what does CCO put on? 6 HOURS of paid programs! Yup from 11am-5pm its paid programs.

since its that time of the year when CBS has weekends of no golf and nothing else sports related (Saturday being the 1st one) I had to drudge this up
Good old WCCO has SIX hours of paid programs...from 11am-5pm on Saturday

KEYC Mankato has 2 hours of Bandwagon (YES!!) Its their locally produced polka/old tyme show from 11-1 then has 3 extra hours of E/I programming

I meant to post this earlier but this thread fell down the list fast. During the non-sports times on CBS on weekends WBBJ 7.3 in Jackson carries Me TV instead. That's definitely better than infomercials. I don't see why WREG couldn't simulcast Antenna TV during those times, other they think they'll make more money off of infomercials. Never mind that they're getting little or no viewers.
I see WBBJ is showing MeTV during those times again.

On Saturday, CBS affiliate WWTV is airing mostly paid programming from noon to 8pm with three exceptions:
CSI: Miami (1pm-2pm)
Blue Bloods (3pm-4pm)
News block at 6pm (local 6-6:30 and network 6:30-7)
