Well, if you sell spots, then you are commercial. There are some cases where a non-profit entity runs a commercial radio station. The City of Dallas owns Classical WRR 101.1, a commercial station. And the non-profit owner of PBS Channel 11 in Chicago owns Classical 98.7 WFMT, also a commercial station.
But I think The Joy FM is non-commercial, just as K-Love and similar CCM stations. Even before this acquisition, it had some stations below 92 in other markets. Maybe it runs underwriting mentions, like a PBS station would.
