They preempted that for this?

Not a preemption, per see, since it was planned, but ABC switched to the Washington-Oregon game, and Wheel of Fortune was preempted. A lot of unhappy Wheel fans tonight, but the Big 10 games start at 7:30, so ABC really had no choice.
 
And they are always previous-season reruns, so it doesn't hurt me. I think there WAS one time a year or two ago where Wheel was preempted everywhere and the syndicator fed a new episode that Saturday. (Think it was the episode scheduled for election night 2016).

How many other Fox stations opted to air their E/I programming in place of the NASCAR Camping World Trucks Series and if they did, where did they air it on if they aired it on TV at all.

I know for the Fox O&O's though the E/I Content would usually go to secondary Fox Stations like KICU-TV aka KTVU+ San Francisco while the KTVU Fox2 the primary Fox O&O airs Sports. If Fox is not airing any sports on some weekends then maybe KTVU might air some E/I segments.

According to the schedule on WBBJ in Jackson, TN the scoreboard show was scheduled to run until 6:30 CT after the Memphis - UCF game anyway, and then directly into the Wisconsin - Michigan game, but they went to the Washington - Oregon game since it had gone into overtime. So football or the scoreboard show was scheduled by ABC for that time anyway.

the interesting part was, if you got the Memphis - UCF game on ABC, then the Washington - Oregon game was on ESPN2. In most of the country, it was reversed. Washington-Oregon on ABC, and the UCF-Memphis game on the Deuce.

When that happens ABC makes sure both games are done before signing off. Since the UCF got done ABC moved everyone to the end of the Oregon-Washington game.
 
speaking of debates, all of the TEGNA owned stations in Texas preempted their stations' regularly scheduled programming from their respective networks to air the Ted Cruz/Beto O'Rourke senate race debate last night at 8 PM. WFAA aired the programming that was on ABC that hour later on in the overnight hours in between the overnight replay of the 10 PM news and ABC News World News Now.

Americans always need to become more informed about their government and the people they elect to operate it. Entertainment is never more important than that.
 
So here in Minneapolis today KSTP ABC is pre-empting the Formula 1 race for local political debates

They're going to show the race...but instead of moving it to their co-owned Independent KSTC (which would pre-empt paid programming) they are moving to to their thisTv subchannel

As tiny a fan base as Formula 1 has in the US, that was the only logical choice they could have made. Those infomercials were worth far more to KSTC than the network feed of Euro-style auto racing would have been, even if nobody at all watched the infomercials.

You sound like the same type of person who would get annoyed about weather emergencies on TV, especially if it's not in your immediate area. Even if it's something you personally couldn't care less about, it's still far more than some old hag's courtroom show that could seen any other time (and I don't mind Judge Judy). You sound entitled.

Actually, I'm reminded of Dustin Hoffman's character in "Rain Man," to whom daily viewing of "The People's Court" was a life-or-death must.
