I was checking to see if it started playing christmas music and went to find it silent. Its just been static all day. I can't get it as well in Wallingford as I used to. I know It's not my radio because i can pick up other stations just fine
Im about 47 miles away in Wallingford. Its a bit far but I was able to hear the station pretty well. I just want to point out that just because you can play the station on their website doesn't mean their transmitter is on and its actually on the air
People on facebook did complain that they wernt getting the station so it wasnt just me
Walking around portions of southern and western Newington and the north end of Berlin with my old Panasonic AM/FM/CD "Walkman":
WFCR-FM 88.5 is weak, occasionally pop in with stereo. Where is their transmitter?
WEIB-FM 106.3 is virtually non-existant.
I'm just north of [Wallingford] and it's marginal here. WHYN-FM comes in much better, and WFCR and WAQY are practically locals.
It's on Mt. Lincoln in Pelham.
What about WLZX 99.3? (It shares its tower with WEIB, but transmits at twice the power.)
How interesting that WFCR is "practically local" for you and "weak" in an area closer to Amherst. Is your listening post situated on a hill?
I'm on the east side of Meriden, higher elevation than downtown or Wallingford, where WFCR has trouble. I don't get to Newington often, but do drive in Berlin and New Britain and WFCR is a solid signal on my car radio in both places.
The Insignia barely picks up WFCR at all, but its sensitivity is the worst of any radio I've ever had. The only reason I have it is to enjoy two of the HD2s from West Peak.
As for 99.3 FM of Northampton? I almost never get anything here. WPLR-FM 99.1 of New Haven wipes it almost nearly all the time. I'm from New Britain's south end, but staying with a relative on the Berlin/Newington town line at present.
