Are you sure that his replacement will have both jobs? It could be possible they could hire tow different people to fill out both jobs.
Very unlikely. MD positions are generally filled by an on-air staff member or another multi-function staffer, possibly the PD themselves. Stations are not making two jobs out of one in this era.
I finding it ironic that the station's name is The End, and I couldn't believe it would be the name of station. And plus who would want to be a dj on a station with this name, as it could win up at some point your job there could live up to the station's name. Just like for the afternoon host, as right now they have listed end music.
You might be right, and forgive me if this sounds like a stupid question just what does MD stand for?

The station was named for being at "the end" of the FM spectrum. 107.7 is near the end, but 107.9 is vacant in the Seattle area.
Ironic? Hmmm...I don't think that word means what you think it means. The End has been at times wildly (and other times at least mildly) successful for the better part of 27 years, with only minor alteration of format. It's called The End because of it's dial position. It makes a ton of money and has for a very long time. It's a music intensive format so the announcers do tend to come and go, but that's kind of what they sign up for with an alt rock format.
It does make since but it is still weird of a name for a radio station to have, and I don't know how many if any others have The End for a name

I’m sure it was “The End of the World As I Know It (And I Feel Fine) by REM.
