It seems like this LP station is getting out better. Even in the downtown area, where the transmitter is located, it was marginal before. Now the signal is steady there and didn't break up until nearly Elk Grove. Were improvements made?

Maybe.... We killed the HD on 93.1 a week or so ago... No digital sidebands to interfere with them from KFBK-FM anymore.
I see 93.3 (KZHP-LP) has filed an application to move to 106.9; partially so that KUTZ-LP can move their transmitter and move to 93.3.
I don't quite understand why KZHP would want to move to 106.9. Co-channel interference from KFRC, esp in summer months is significant. Even KRNO creeps into the valley enough to cause problems. KZHP listeners on the east side may also have some noise from 107.1. I also notice the application lowered the antenna a few feet to bump up to 47 watts. I wonder in this case if moving the ERP up closer to 100 watts would alleviate KZHP's current issues?
