3TV GMAZ Anchor Lineup Changes

I think I know but I'm keeping it to myself for the time being.

Maybe we should start a "clue zoo".

I'm just here to one day figure out who Dr Akbar really is...

I've been on this board and its predecessors since 1997, and have no idea who he really is.

Maybe we should get on social media and plan an all-out assault on the Buckeye Media Hut!!!

YUP...we could put the whole twitterverse on GREMLIN WATCH!

Do you think 3TV GMAZ would be able to adequately cover it with their new anchor lineup??

(See what I just did there? )

Pretty easy to track down Dr. Akbar. There is only one 1976 Gremlin registered with DMV. A special note on his registration indicates DMV sends him a condolence card every year on the registration date.

If it conflicted with existing programming on 3TV, I'm thinking Meredith could add a digital subchannel to either 3 or 5 or, alternatively, purchase an LP station to show it. :) :)

Their weather sub (which is on KTVK despite being part of KPHO more than anything) was laughable. At 11pm, during a storm, it had a prerecorded forecast with Paul Horton that started out with a clear radar picture. You'd think they'd have updated the thing a little more. At least it now fills a 16:9 picture.

I realize those weather subs are probably very inexpensive to air but they seem about as popular as an FM HD sub. Why do stations waste their money on channels virtually nobody watches?

Yeah, I just saw that, too. So what becomes of Your Life AZ? Moves to 11 AM to Noon, getting rid of the horribly unfunny Mom?

Well that didn't last long. Your Life AZ is back at 10 to 11, replacing GMAZ's final hour. Now, Channel 3 has news at noon to 12:30. Odd, considering CBS5 has had news at noon for years. Simulcast?

I'm pissed that reruns of "Last Man Standing" is no longer airing at noon on 3TV. That was my lunchtime favorite for the past several years. Their listings are still inaccurate so you don't know if LMS airs earlier or if the news half hour is followed by "Mom" or what. I've noticed it has changed several times over the past two weeks. 3TV is no longer on my pre-sets.

Two episodes of Last Man Standing air 11 to noon. Jeopardy airs at 12:30 to 1, followed by two episodes of Mom from 1 to 2.

It is a simulcast of the CBS 5 at noon. I have an idea: KTVK should start an hour-long newscast at 11am and call it "Good Day Arizona" ;)

KTVK used to be a worthwhile station. Now, aside from Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy it airs practically nothing but repeats of previously aired news broadcasts. Oh and pay for pray scammers.

Actually, I believe all newscasts are live now, even though some are simulcast on Channel 5. The field reports are aired multiple times (but that's always the way it's been, other than live shots), and so are some of the studio segments (i.e. Tara Hitchcock's paid junkets and movie plugola... er, I mean celebrity interviews).

And I think the Sunday morning "religious" scam artist who's name I will not mention only airs a couple times on Sunday mornings. Fortunately, I'm asleep during one and switch to sports programming during the other.

Wonder what happened? They would've crunched the numbers, thinking they would make more money having an extra hour of GMAZ versus the comedy reruns. Did some of the Your Life sponsors balk with the time change? Are Gina and April going to start working at 4:30AM again? Oh yeah, April already came in at 5...

Which is something KTVK actually used to do before.
